I like the technique of the stinger hook threaded through the swimbait, but I think the technique for tying the line to the front hook could be improved. You’d be surprised how well it would hold with a few drops of superglue that should be in every man’s tackle box. The front hook could be replaced with a jig head so the torpedo weight would be unnecessary. But all in all, I like the concept. I would like to see you run the lure through a water tank or get a video of you cranking it through the water so we could see if the rear hook negatively impacts the action.
7 minutes to set this up. Idk. I suppose you could prepare several in advance but think it's a no go to,do it on the water. It is true that the small pike in my area do short strike paddle tails quite often so this might be useful.
There is an expression to describe this exercise. Too much sugar for a dime. Fish always hit the head of the target. The tail nippers aren't worth bothering with anyway.
