this was my introduction to nirvana when i was like 5 years old. my mom was crazy enough to let me listen to this stuff as a child. still one of my all time favourites.

"Aneurysm" along with "Drain You" and "Lounge Act" (and possibly others) were written about Kurt's ex-girlfriend Tobi Vail from the band Bikini Kill. Supposedly, the vomited right after meeting her because he was nervous, hence, "Love you so much, it makes me sick." The line "Come on over and do the twist" was a reference to sex. The line "Come on over and shoot the shit" *_could_* be a double entendre, but I'm the same generation as Kurt and "shoot the shit" was and still is used in many parts of the US as slang for talking/hanging out. It has been historically used interchangeably with "shooting the breeze."

Downer wasn’t on the original pressing and that was why it was on incecticide. It wasn’t until the later realeses of bleach that it was included on the album.

The original US release of Bleach didn't include Big Cheese or Downer. Turnaround is a Devo cover.

“You Know You’re Right” should be next. It’s the last song Nirvana recorded and it wasn’t released until 2002 so it’s not on an album. There is a music video for it on RU-vid.

Downer is on both albums Bleach and Incesticide because when Bleach was released in 1989 the album didn’t had Downer and Sifting until in the 1990 Bleach reissue SubPop included that two songs, anyways DGC and SubPop added Downer on Incesticide to that people already owned a 1989 version of Bleach

Really glad you did this album... I have been inspired by Nirvana since I was 15 I own 15 guitars gigged in a band since 2016. Its so crazy 1987 to 1994 and Nirvana has a lasting impact still. Btw two and a half needles full in the autopsy... Ive seen ppl nod out fall over with just a half.. I still dont know how he shot the gun..

I've noted the obvious, but the most standout, common thread in so many Nirvana songs, which includes several hits, the chorus is short and is repeated multiple times over. Part of a formula, I suppose.

You should really listen to silverchairs album “Frogstomp” they were only 15 when it released in 1995

I remember when I was in a clinic because of my depression ... in a group therapy we were asked to find a song that matches our current usual mood. I chose "Big Long Now" and I really FELT the song. For the others in my group this song was hard to listen to. For me this song is still the musical equivalent to the dumb and empty pain of a depression. This album meant a lot to me and still does. Bought it when it was released. Especially the rawness because the style of recording is really great in combination with the crazy ideas and approaches they did. If you take this CD as a classical vinyl LP you clearly can devide the two sides after Polly. With Beeswax the tone of this album really changed a lot. And this second part of the album is still for me one of the greatest tracks of songs ever - although I understand how much other people dislike it or even find it disgusting - especially when Kurt screams and and makes weird sounds. But these songs for me contain a lot pain and for me its just perfect music to let out my own pain. Anyway - thanks a lot for this reaction and all the best for your channel and your whole life.

Hello there ! I love watching your videos. You should react to some live footage of Nirvana like "MTV unplugged", "Live & Loud" or "Paramount". And if you wanna know more about the story of Kurt Cobain, i suggest you watching the movie Cobain:Montage Of Heck. It's a great documentary/movie about his life (from birth to death). It's a good movie but there are some images of naked people or violent words and topics so don't watch it live.

I’m pretty sure aneurysm is about shooting heroin. Do the twist can have a double meaning of the dance or twisting the tourniquet on the arm. Overdo it and have a fit, love you so much it makes me sick (sounds like heroin). Shoot the shit can meaning talking or mean “shoot up the heroin”. Beat me outta me - numb myself with drugs. Btw, Kurt may have used heroin for stomach pain as well as emotional pain, but not a good idea (for many reasons but also) because heroin and other opioids can cause constipation which also causes stomach pain
