Nicky and Andrew from Harley-Davidson take you through an experience of the most notorious bikes in the Harley-Davidson line up, The Fatbob and the Softail Breakout
I went with the fat bob! Coming from an R1 this is the only bike that managed to get the smile on my face.... I would personally just change the exhaust to a 2 to 2 system to get it sounding really good though.
On the Fat Bob I'd dump the drag bars for Tbars and replace the forward controls with mids. The '23 model has the 117 inch motor which has to be experienced at least once in your riding life.
I love the fat bob.. I would buy one but I hate that Rear fender. So I went in the middle , I have a DYNA street bob. Almost 5 gallon fuel tank. The softail street bob has a small tank. No good
As a former super-sport rider one of the most important aspects of riding for me at the moment is in my riding is the recovery and forgivness around twists, I'm not the most experienced rider but at my age I'm looking for a Harley i'm done with sports bikes.
Both are cool. Id go with the Bob at least before i actually test drove it. Reason being ive had umpteenth motorcycles with the same wheels. The same general look. Dyna, Shovel low rider, Sporty, the Bob is different than all. And those tires!!!
Cobra Chromes are one of the best. I had those on my 2017 BreakOut but being that they're so soft, I was going through tires too fast. Now I have Dunlop American Elites. They have a harder center and soft sides like the Avons. My rear tire with the Avons was only getting around 6-8k miles. Now with the American Elites I'm getting around 14k on the rear. You could also do Avon Cobra Chromes on the front and American Elites on the back. But I have both Elites on front and back and it's great in the rain and all conditions so far.
