I went with the SDC Saddlemen seat for my Sport Glide and love it. The extra back support is great and it looks excellent on the bike. The width of the Mustang seat although initially comfortable will get annoying after awhile on shorter rides when you are having to stop and put your seat down lots.

My choice would be Saddleman for the simple reason it covers the fender,I have a cross bones and want to get rid of solo seat and just bought detachable back rest so I can but my T-bag on.With the 2 up bag will be on seat and not fender saving paint.Its all a personal choice.

That Mustang seat is the exact one I will be getting for my Slim very soon. I loved the way it looked sitting on the bike. If you can't tell which one you want based on sitting on them, maybe just decide which one you think looks better on that bike and go with that one. Looking forward to seeing which one you choose!

I would choose the Saddleman just for the simple reason that is has some back support. If you're planning on some long distance trips, you will definitely be glad you got the Saddleman. But that Mustang seat looks pretty sweet as well:)

I got the mustang seat for my sport glide I love it.i like the looks of the mustang seat on the slim better.but that's my opinion. You are still the best!!

Regarding the seat I'm sure you'll make the right decision, you've definitely made good decisions on the bikes themselves. Completely off topic but if you are looking to black out something cheap on the slim change the headlight bezel $39 HD. I did this to my slim and it looks amazing..:)

You're right, the Slim is a beautiful bike I just bought a 2021 slim this year and I love it. However, like just about everything in life, I'd love it more if I wasn't a short man (I'm 5'6"). Your video was helpful in narrowing down the choice for a replacement seat, more accurate than most, but I was wondering if you, or your followers, had found the impossible; a seat that fits a 2021 Slim AND pushes you closer to the bars. I've been running round and round in circles and getting nowhere.

I put a Corbin Classic Solo with backrest on my 2020. I had a Saddleman, very good seat, didn’t think it fit the retro style of my Slim. I have blacked out, put brown seat on, it stands out. Get many great comments on it. Whatever you like and feel comfortable on!

Put a mustang on my slim, way better than stock! The mustang passenger seat will leave marks on the rear fender, but being that you have a Heritage, probably not worried about taking a passenger on the slim to much. The Slim is a hard bike in that you don’t really want to modify it too much, Harley-Davidson knocked it out of the ball park!

I just can't wrap my head around a large fender covering seat like the Saddleman. I have to say I am still liking the Street Bob seat I have on mine. I'm guessing the Mustang is more comfortable though.

I’m looking for a seat like the first one you tried on your bike for my 2017 Softail Slim S but with the backrest. But, if it’s higher and pushing you closer to the tank, I might have to pass. I like the first seat though 👍🏽.

Which seat looks better on the bike should be the last thing you base your decision on . Comfort is your first priority, and you can't tell by setting the seat on the bike and sitting on it for a few minutes. Mount one seat on the bike and go ride for a day (preferably for a couple of hundred kilometers ) and see how you feel at the end of the day. Then the next day swap the seat out and do it again. This should tell you which seat is more comfortable. If they are equally comfortable and you have no preference in the two then you can base your decision on which you like the looks of.

Thanks for overlooking my comment. I should mention that my bike is the Deluxe and unlike the Heritage, it came with a solo seat and no passenger pegs. I probably didn't ride it long enough to determine its lack of comfort, but I did find it uncomfortable after a few hours of riding. I probably would have kept it if a backrest was offered for it, but it wasn't. After I put my deluxe seat on with the added passenger seat, I also put passenger pegs on it. You never know when an emergency might happen and you have to take a passenger. You and your husband ride together, if you broke down he might have to take you as a passenger. I hope you don't think I'm a stalker, I'm single (Widowed) and have to much time.

Hey Corinna Greg in NY again! I've got a 2002 flstc-i and you are reviewing seats...I can't understand why you didn't check out The Ultimate seat made in Toronto...mine has the removable backrest, it is of the highest quality with a fiberglass seat pan...the material is riveted to it...it even has the silver dots to match my bags as it is the Heritage Classic....check them out asap!!!Waaaay better than The Motor Company cheep seat that came from the factory...plastic seat pan with thin vinyl STAPLED TO IT...YEAH STAPLES LIKE YOU USE IN AN OFFICE!!!!

I got mine used from eBay but it is in mint condition but I paid only $ 350 rider & pillion w/ backrest... if Ultimate gets enough positive pressure from Slim owners...I think they will eventually make one...imho!!!

I'm more interested in long-time riding than appearance. I have only heard good results about the Saddleman from others. Personally, I feel the Mustang with the wider seating appears it would give you the longest riding comfort. My Softail® Heritage and Deluxe (2018 and Newer) Softail® Heritage and Deluxe (2018 and Newer) seat offers the availability of being single or adding the passenger portion as well as being wider with the added bonus of being able to add a backrest. The other positive is for the passenger seat, it is also larger, longer and wider, for passenger comfort. I haven't had a passenger on my bike but if I do I want them to be comfortable and enjoy the ride. I have ridden on my Ultimate seat for over a year and over 5000 miles (8000 km). It does take a break in time as it will feel hard at first, but that means you probably have a good seat. Just my opinion.

extremely good points! we will never have a passenger on the slim as we don’t have the foot pegs… I never thought it would be such a difficult decision 😂

@@CorinnaHaimerl Like you I researched a lot and the first seat I bought was Harley's Hammock seat. It was poorly made and would fall off the front attachment when I was riding it. I had to fight with the parts man at the dealer until I found an employee who helped me get rid of this junk. I researched again, avoiding Harley and settled on the Ultimate seat. It had good reviews on the Harley Forum. I have been very happy with it so far. If you don't read the Harly Forum, you should, there's lots of good information from others on it.
