If I choose thinking on aesthetics, I prefer the jazzmaster. But the G&L has a more stable bridge, higher output pickups and it's less noisy. Also, the balance of the instrument feels great for playing live (no neck dive).
All sounds were made with Boss GT1000. I used a low octave on octaver, lots of ambience reverb, tape echo delay and chorus for that non-tuned sound. Also I used a crunch amp with a creamy overdrive at the front of the amp. I see in live videos that the lead guitarist of Softcult use this same unit
@@romnz were the octaver, reverb, delay, and chorus in the loop or also in front? very nice man, i would have thought it was an octave up, not down. I've been boggled by this sound since i first heard the song.
@@oyumena The octaver can be set one octave up as well. I preferred to set it one octave down because it sounded more natural to me, similar to a Boss OC-5 when I play on the higher frets. I put the octaver before the amp/distortion because that way the playing is softer and goes better with the song. After the amp comes the EQ, the chorus, the reverb and the tape echo delay.
I'll try to figure and write out the tabs by looking at his fretting. Whish me luck. If I happened to come up with a good tab sheet, I'll share it with you.
