You production quality has gone up alot with this one! At my Uni, Software Engineering is an Honors Degree that has all the same subjects as CS but has 1 year of extra content. The SE degree also allows you to join Engineers Australia as a Registered Engineer. This is recognised in non tech industries like Defence. You can also go into specialisations of Software Engineering like Data Engineering which is highly lucritive. I would say a big difference between SE and CS is that SE focuses more on quality. You are correct about the CS students having absolutely no personal skills lol.
Hey, I'm currently a highschool student in Australia and I'm aiming to be going to Monash Uni. I really want to do a double degree with Engineering paired with something else. I'm not sure which would be better to pair it with it or cs? Also what would your adivice for chosing a major be? For CS it would just be advanced computer science. But for IT there are cybersecurity, software development, games, and business ? Thank you so much!
Hi Joshua, the sessions are currently on hold but you can drop me your email address on Instagram or LinkedIn DM (links in my profile) and I'll let you know as soon as I have time to resume them 😊
