My go to riding edc, still, bought one 10 years ago. Keep it shaving sharp with no problem. The weight and the closed fit in hand are real good the bolsters are good thumpers, better than a roll of quarters in a tight moment, if deployment not called for. Always have this and SRK as carry.
I had a SOG but not sure what kind...one of my kids decided he need a knife when he went camping and guess what...Lost it but said he didn't...Just like the same nite he broke the his fishing rod and the straps to my tauno cover...Said he never did that either...I know better...Mine had a lite green handle...Nice review brother and great piece to have in the outdoors for what you do...
I have the one you reviewed. So far it's been a good knife. I'm happy with it. Especially for the price. Now, if my new SogFari Kukri machete holds up as well as the Fielder I'll be even happier.
Love sog but this one sucks so bad its way to slippery for me id be afriad id cut my finger off it seems dangerous .this sog is a nice shelf queen though.
I love how SOG knives are designed, but the steel sucks. 7CR17MoV is just 440A with a bit a vanadium added so they can call it something other than 440A. It's a trick many cheaper knife companies use to sell knives, and if buyers don't know much about steel, they fall for it every time. Even manufacturers in China do the same thing. In fact, the SOG steel is just cheap Chinese stainless with a tiny bit of added vanadium. This doesn't mean it's not a usable knife, but it does mean that buyers should understand what they're actually buying, and then judge whether the knife is worth the price.
