Soh Chin Aun is the coolest defender Malaysia ever had. Never seen him panic or kelam kabut. Even under the most tense situation he will come and collect the ball with his cool attitude and carry it to safety. Never have we ever seen such a quality defender ever since.
Dato Soh Chin Aun dan Dato Santokh Singh, thank you very much to both of you on you contribution to the country. We will never again have the muhibbah team
I grew up watching them, Mokhtar Dahari , Shukor Salleh and others . Every merdeka tournament I will be at Stadium Merdeka. Ironically I ended up marrying Shukor Salleh ‘ s niece 😂. We were a great football nation in Asia during this time. Epic🎉
Is bloody gd time...Wil never ever come back..I agree what the 2 legends said..the politician have killed the sport n our relationship as Malaysians.... Remember Malaysia is 4 all of US...dispite RACE or RELIGION my friends
remember dollah kassim-muhammah noh as one of the most prolific pair equating hassan sani-james wong with 90% goal scoring chances (my count lah) true entertainers that you are willing to wait hours before the kick-off
How can anyone forget the greatest football team the country ever produced & played in the 1972 Olympic in Munich West Germany. The game against West Germany-with Uli Honess.Half time 0-0.
I was remember watching Malaysia Cups final 1978 (Selangor vs Singapore) via TV telecast and I was 11 years old at that time. Selangor first eleven, Rashid Hassan, Soh Chin Aun, Santokh Singh, Khalid Ali, Kamarudin Abdullah, Redzuan Abdullah, Yip Chee Keong, John Engketesu, Mokhtar Dahari, Ramli Junit and Abdullah Ali. Selangor won 4-2, goal by Ramli Junit (2), Soh Chin Aun and John Engketesu. One of the greatest final in the Malaysia Cups history⚽
I was one of the 45000 Msians in the Merdeka Stadium on the night we qualified for the Moscow Olympics. Also in the same stadium when Sgor beat Spore 4-2 in the Msia Cup Final. Had the autographs of both legends plus many other greats.
1981 pre world cup @ Kuwait.... still remember vividly few incidents of that tournament. 1. Training for this tournament was held at Frazer Hill under Karl Weigang, later questions were asked why train at a cold place when the tournament was to be held at a very hot location, Kuwait? 2. After the match against Kuwait, Chow Chee Keong (then playing professionally in Hong Kong), the Malaysian goalkeeper mentioned that the weather was so hot that football was like a fire ball. 3. Lim Teong Kim then 18 or 19 was in the team playing at right back, youngest player in the team Since this debacle Malaysian football after 40+ years has not regain it's former glory till today...😢😢
If You Claim Malaysia Legend's....Than Truly You Are...For National Team He Plays Defender...For Melaka & Selangor He Play Striker...One Of The Cool Player In His Peak Time...Santokh Is Remarkable Defender...Stay Healthy...Stay Blessed Everyone's Ya...🙏🤍👍🔥
Those were the days. I went to watch Singapore vs Selangor at the Kallang old national stadium. Spectators were pushing at the staircase to go into the stadium when pandemonium broke. Such was the fever.
Taukeh and Santokh formed the great wall of Malaysia, even the towering South Korean striker Kim Jae Han & speedy winger Cha Bum Ken failed to penetrate.😊😊
History has shown us over and over again that we can achieve anything if we set race aside and put meritocracy in place ... Politicians please learn from these heroes
These are amongst my 2 heroes growing up, terima kasih for all the hard work and contribution towards football that made us proud being Malaysian. May you have good health and happiness ahead, Thanks again
Football in Malaysia was essentially a calling of Indian Malaysians that culminated in the opening of the TPCA stadium. The team of the 70s, not only had the skill & determination but the mental strength to raise the game to top levels. Today's team have non of these qualities. Perhaps all of them need to undergo an IQ test.
when these guys played, they gave us goose pimples, until mahatahi became pee m and said football is a stupid game with 20 men running around chasing a ball!!!...damn that old man!!
@@athan7199 what to expect from the champion of privatisation and wawasan 2020 look east policy, success or failure should be the judgement of we, Malaysian, successful in initiating our national car project but failure to nationalise our highway project.
Apa yg tinggal ia lah kenangan hidup yg penuh dgn kemanisan dan kepahitan yg kemewahan tak dapat diganti...terima kasih ALLAH kerana memberi kesempatan utk hidup dgn penuh pengalaman hidup.
I started watching these two legends, Arumugam, Mokhtar and gangs playing when I started playing football...the usual legendary Selangor team, also watched them played for PKNS and MCIS. Those were the days we get to beat South Korea, Japan, Cameroon, Senegal with regular intervals. Those were the legendary times and these two + Spiderman were at their very best
"I played for the country and the pride of the national flag". So different from now with Malaysia's "professional" footballers. Santokh and Chin Aun were amateurs and had a day job to make ends meet. Proud that we used to have such footballers. I may be biased, but as a Selangorian who watch the Singapore-Selangor Derby in the 1970s and 1980s, those SIngapore teams were probably the best, if not the best, that Singapore produced. And more importantly, they were local players, no foreign players. The passion that both Singapore and Selangor had for their teams in those days, have never been matched since.
As i remember they are true legends as a pro footballers, they work and playyed fror the country with passion and not money oriented like the current ones today. These are the living prove from these legends that go the extra, miles to achive it. Kudos salute to these profesional players.❤👍👍👍🏃♀️🏃
Untuk nak bagi faham cara mudah....CR7 pun x mampu lepaih dua dua ni... hebat.. lejen... best defender in Asia during their played time...memang hebat... pesta bola merdeka, ditunggu tunggu rakyat Malaysia tika itu...best Level Paolo Maldini
Apparently these two great footballers/defenders can’t be separated from the playing field right up to this interview! It will be more interesting if the interviewer let each one of them narrate their childhood memories to their heart content as not only young viewers are interested to know more about the family background but senior citizens who grew up watching them play didn’t know much except the duo playing career representing the nation.
saya pernah bertemu dgn sdr abdullah ali...di food court bandar tun razak. saya tanya r u marzuki ismaun....he said no! i know you a graduate yg terrer buat inswinger corner kick. dia kata betul, masa tengah cuci tangan. marzuki dari tganu, saya dari melaka... malu lak. so i remember AA...sorry boss, i was wrong...r u abdullah ali. he smiled and he said now you r correct. thanks pak lah...use to see you from distance kat stadium merdeka tangga ayam
So great to watch Towkay and Santokh play together. Santokh is tall so command the high ball. Towkay is the general, controlling play. Mokhtar is fast and strong upfront as striker. Spiderman was a good goalkeeper.
Hey guys. That was Malaysia in the 60s and 70s. You were right. I am sure you have to admit that during the Malaysia Cup when you guys played against the Singapore team you folks have fielded 12 to 14 players against the 11 players of the Singapore team. You know what I am talking about. You were certainly very comfortable with 12 to 14 players while the Singapore team was always on the receiving ends of unfair decisions by your extra invisible players. Ever heard the Kallang roars chanting "Referee kayu!". That was how it came about in case you have forgotten. No Chinese players in the SG team? You have forgotten how Singapore won your Malaysia Cup in the 1977. Don't forget our legendary Quah Kim Song, Robert Sim, Lim Chew Peng, Lim Tien Jit, Lim Teng Sai, Edmund Wee, Ho Kwang Hock, and the coach was Choo Seng Kwee. It seemed Datok Towkay Soh have had bad memory have bad memory about Chinese members of the Singapore team. The Singapore team was always up against the odd because the playing field was not level.
He was referring to the current Spore team. Not sure are there any Chinese players in the team? He is 73 now and he may not follow everything that happened in the football world, just like me.
@@lailimohd6763 Fandi was playing marbles with me after primary school then, wearing a pairs of slippers and shorts with a loose singlet on, when the Malaysian legends won the bronze in the Teheran, IRAN,ASIAN games,1974.
