Or just “sohcahtoa” since it’s a 3 syllable word and u should be able to remember a single 3 syllable word unless u have been snorting glue since about age 5
It's an popular function It's: A* / sin a = B* / sin b = C* / sin c As A*,B*,C* is the sides of a triangle And a,b,c is the angles that opposite it's sides
the proof is also nice A = (1/2)absinγ = (1/2)bcsinα = (1/2)casinβ times everything by 2 2A = absinγ = bcsinα = casinβ divide everything by abc 2A/abc = sinγ / c = sinα / a = sinβ / b u can ignore the area expression, put in alphabetical order, then take the reciprocal of everything to obtain a / sinα = b / sinβ = c / sinγ
I have only started learning some trigonometry in the last few days and this helps me a lot. Is using a scientific calculator considered cheating at all?
My Maths basis is not good. Can you please make a video about the cross multiplication in formulas? Like if f=ma then how can we find m ? Etc and with with big formulas
I remember this how my Air Force tech school sgt told me: We all remember the order of Sine, Cosine and Tangent, yes? Now just remember Ozzie Has A Hairy Old Ass---- S = O/H C = A/H T = O/A Any method helps, if it works for you. 😅
Another way of solving One angle is 55 so the third angle is 35 One let's name O as 11y and A as 7y as they are in ratio of 55:35 (11y)^2+(7y)^2=100 121y^2+49y^2=100 170y^2=100 y^2=100/170=0.588 y=0.7668 So x=O=11y=11×0.7668=8.4
that's not always true, taking this ratio implies that the tangent (that is the ratio of the opposite side to the adjacent side) of this 55 degree angle is exactly (11y)/(7y) which is 11/7, but in fact tan(55⁰) ≠ 11/7, in gener tan(x) ≠ x/(90-x), this may be a good approximation for some x but clearly not always a good choice.
That's the most ridiculous way to remember trigonometry. How is it hard to remember tan is sin/cos and is also opposite/adjacent. So sin is apposite/hypotenuse and cos is adjacent/hypotenuse.
It’s helpful in the beginning for an easy way to remember when you’re young, once you use trig a bit you stop having to think about it as it becomes second nature
wait rlly? I call it 'haitch'. I'm confused, I thought the name of a letter starts by the same letter. Like the letter 'J' is pronounced as 'jay' Or 'G' is pronounced as 'Gee'.
I use a better method. I use Oscar Had A Heep Of Apples Sine = Oscar / Had or O / H Cosine = A / Heep or A / H Tangent= Of / Apples or O / A Easier to Remember than SohCahToa. Either way. It works .
I never learn SohCahToa I can easily remember the 6 trigs function. SinX=o/h=1/CscX CosX=a/h=1/SecX TanX=o/a=1/CotX=SinX/CosX CscX=h/o=1/SinX Secx=h/a=1/CosX CotX=a/o=1/TanX=CosX/SinX
I'm updating my schooling so I can quit logging and go become a carpenter.... I wish they would just teach me work math and not this complicated crap. Give me a tape measure a speed square and a physical object and i can figure it out .. I'm not trying to become a bloody architect
I’m bad at math, like really bad, but I liked geometry at school. How on earth can there be a 55 degree angle with a 90 degree angle? What am I missing?
