Great reaction Champ. Beside B-M, Sokoninaru is my second go to band. I absolutely love them. I had the unbeatable pleasure and privilege to see them live here twice in Switzerland right before the Pandemic took over - they had to interrupt their Europe tour sadly. And I can assure you they bring that complex stuff live as on the studio recordings. Sokoninaru is not just a masterclass in composition and musicianship. It’s also an intellectual masterclass. How do you remember all that live in an 1 ½ concert? My brain would melt long before the end. Great stuff indeed.

Thanks, your reaction was fun to watch, and made me feel less stupid for not understanding what they're doing! The most incomprehensible thing is how they can be so complex, jump about so much, and yet the melodies still stick in my head for days.

They're my favorite band for the same reason Dali is one of my favorite visual artists. They put out a live version of "VortEx" and it's equally bonkers while having the kind of melody that's still in my head after a week. Also, if you get a chance, check out "Complicated System." It's my favorite song of theirs for many of the same reasons, but it's also one of their more personal songs.

Check out Sokoninaru's official channel, they recently uploaded a little "making off" of the drum recording for this song. The guy is that good indeed! And seeing the guitarist playing drums is one of the most hilarious things ever!

I wondered if there's a layered percussion track or effects but I can't tell. This is nucking futs. But yes, it sounds good. Unfortunately that's the key. All this amazing chaos going on but it's so well structured and it sounds and flows so well. Thanks Champ, you always sound good.

I've been writing music for over 30 years and they broke my mind as to what a song can, or should, be. While I still enjoy other music, there is no artist that challenges my mind like they do consistently. Their sound is derived from Ling Tosite Sigure (凛として時雨), Juko and Misaki began as a Ling Tosite Sigure cover band. Sokoniru has taken the frenetic changes found in many of LTS songs and made the style their own. I love these guys! As a bassist, especially Misaki! One of my bass idols even though her style is very different from mine. And yes, please absolutely check out the live video for VortEx! It's amazing!

What a gerat band. Have you heard "Tenohira de Odoru"? I think Asian musicians in general are so skillfull, creative and they master their stuff. Hahaha, I need a hug an a cigarette. This songs makes you tired, like drained cause our brain can´t process it all. It is a brain freeze.

Their music is a little out there for me, but their talent is undeniable. Not too surprising considering how important music education is in Japan.
