Can you leave OBD adapter connected and just unplug the solar panel from the OBD PORT when driving ?

Hi does this have a cutout once charged if left for 6 weeks at a time? Is there a possibility of overcharging? Thanks

@RickMakes Is the Battery Tender cable passive so that I would be relying on the smarts in the Suner to prevent overcharging etc?

It is passive so it does rely on what is plugged into it for protection.

Can the ODB II adapter be plugged in full time or just while charging with the vehicle stationary ?

I often leave mine plugged in when I'm driving but I should probably disconnect it so I don't accidentally step on it and pull on the OBD-II port.

I'm using almost the exact same setup but with the 18W version of the panel. When I connect it via the ODB-II adapter, I notice that the blinking light on the panel doesn't reflect that it's actually charging. It should be blinking red but instead is still blinking green (which the manual says is "Not Active Yet"). I'm wondering if that's normal and due to the fact that I'm using the adapter. If anyone knows anything about this, I'd be appreciative. The vehicle is a 2013 Toyota RAV4.

Do you have a meter? Do you see voltage on the ODB-II adapter?

@@Rickmakes Toyota said no-go. I broke down and am running it into the hood with clips. It's better than I'd been doing, which was running a chord from the house to the car (danger of someone tripping). It'll do (and thanks!).
