At 8:42, I think it's worth mentioning that gallium arsenide is toxic. Hence, it's less commonly used.

Sir, at 01:52 For photons to reach the depletion region, instead of reducing the N region, can't we just flip the whole block by 90 degrees clockwise, so that the depletion region faces upwards and everything proceeds as usual...
@KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish
@KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish 3 года назад
Excellent question. That, however, would be impractical because, from the side, the depletion would have a very tiny area.

Sir in N-type semiconductor we use Zno?
@lewtube6436
@lewtube6436 Год назад
OK, but how do you get a PN junction from gallium arsenide? My guess is this. Half of it is doped with a little extra gallium to make the P type, and the other half a little bit of arsenic for the N. It appears to me that gallium arsenide in itself plays the role of plain silicon, which does not conduct. Am I right?

Thank you very much for the explanation. Sr. on 5:41 you told about the energy of majority of electrons coming from sun is E = 1.5 ev. Will you please explain it. I tried finding the energy of majority of electrons on net. However, i couldn't find it. Is this value an assumption or fact. Please answer. Thanks in advance.

A graph is there to explain the spectrum of energy in the photons from sunlight, in the ncert class 12 physics book...you can refer that

Sir ,why electrons love to stay at lower energy level,as you explained electrons absorb 1.5ev but fall to 1.1 ev level in silicon by dissipating heat energy?what feature make electrons to love lower energy level?
@watsoncrick6071
@watsoncrick6071 2 года назад
lower energy levels corresponds to more stability, therefore electrons likes to be in lower energy levels

Everything, even electrons love to stay at lower energy… or accidentally go to lower energy, but can’t move up to a higher energy.
