On April 8, 2024, Dr. Patrice Edwards and the Astrology Club at Coastal Georgia hosted a viewing event of the partial solar eclipse. The eclipse was recorded and photographed using a Seestar S50 refractor telescope. Two Orion refractor telescopes with solar filters were used by students, faculty, and staff to look at the eclipse. The video was captured by Patrice and Brandon Edwards.
Dr. Edwards is an assistant professor of physics at College of Coastal Georgia. The Astronomy Club is led by students Alexander Salgago (president), and Riley Elkins (vice president).
