Hi John Good to see your keeping busy. That's a cool project and if you can charge it from solar even better. It's funny you mention soldering the cells and I know many people do. I tried soldering the dodgy fake Panasonic cells I bought from LiitoKala but the solder wouldn't take. I don't know what the can is made of but whatever it is it can't be soldered. I'm hoping to get a new update on my first ever ebike soon. It looks like I can use a PWM motor controller to power the rotor on the alternator motor so that I don't need an extra 12V battery.
