Thanks Mark!, Great information. Clearly some of this would have been updated now (2023) with regards to functionality and reporting, however its a great basis for me to understand whats is possible and in the case of some quotes I am currently reviewing, what is likley to be delivered (similarly) from the iSolarCloud.

I'm glad I watched this one. I have only just resolved my wifi connnectivity issues (the basic dongles do NOT work...) to my inverter and now can see I do not have an energy meter fitted (we moved in earlier this year with an existing 3 year old system). I have reached out to my installer to ask them about getting this module retrofitted.

Hi Mark, great videos, and definitely helped me with my solar decision down here in Victoria. I just have a question about how often the S100 refreshes data. Mine seems to only update every 5 mins or so. So if I turn a device on in the house to see how much it consumes, then I have to wait quite a while to see the result. I would have thought the data would almost be live. I've checked both isolarcould via the app and web, but both show the same thing. Is there a way to make the data reflected almost instantaneous?

Thanks so much Mark, very informative. I am curious though , you showed a system (13:30 into video) without a smart meter, mmmm my sungrow also does not have a smart meter, but not getting the grid info as you've shown. I'm just wondering what's different. I'm from Victoria if that makes a difference.

I’ve just had a 9.9kw system installed with the Sungrow 8kw premium inverter. I had to register, configure the app myself. The installer did none of that and got irate when I asked for help. I dont have the tariff info set up yet. When I go into the isolar cloud app it looks totally different to what you are showing. Perhaps I have not set it up correctly? I had a lot of trouble getting the wifi stuff to talk and creating the plant. I also cannot get live data. It’s says no live data devices and to purchase one!! Could use some guidance.

Dear guys Thanks for your useful video. I'm working with solar inverter solar. When monitoring it on iSolarCloud, I monitor 2 measurements are Daily power yield and Total power yield. Can you explain to me the definition of 2 measurements. I guess that + the Daily power yield is energy counted from beginning of this day to present + Total power yield is energy counted from beginning of inverter installation to present Is that correct? Got a Sungrow system with battery, 12,9 kWh, i want to limit discharge and charge to 20-80% with the purpouse to extend the lifetime of the battery, how do i set parameters, i dont get it. Many thanks //B

Hi Mark, my new solar system shuts down almost everyday. Installed on 18 March 2022. I have been told by the Installer that it is a voltage issue. Is there anything I can do about this? My inverter is a SG5. 0ORT(5kW). Please help.

It is a bit of a confusing platform to be honest Probably best to get onto your installer. You could also connect it to solaranalytics, for about $50 a year.

The IsolarCloud app does not have weekend off peak rates available. Serious fail. Makes all the stats produced inaccurate.

Hi Mark, Great video! I had my system installed 28 September 2020, with that meter. I find the display is very slow, sometimes 5 to 12 Minutes before it updates. Found in the settings under live data “Your plant does not currently have any devices that support live data. Please purchase the latest Sungrow devices if necessary” I thought I bought up to date, I should have asked more questions. they seem to have lost interest after getting paid! Where can I find Night mode? I send emails to my installer, to Sungrow in Sydney and China (in English and Mandarin) no answers.

Hi Otto. It sounds like you didn't get an energy consumption meter? That's pretty slack that your installer won't help you!

Hey mate I had one of those install’n’run guys do my solar. Sent him a link to the s100 after questioning why I couldn’t see my real-time usage. He claimed that device was for regulating how much I am sending back to the grid. I am in the Gold Coast, could you please quote me how much to supply and install the s100 please?

Hi Mark, watching this video I was keen to get Night Mode turned on. My installer went out of business so I emailed Graham at Sungrow to enable for me. He has updated LCD and MDSP Moonstone modules but has just replied to me that my inverter SG15KTL-M does not support Night Mode? My inverter was installed earlier this year as a warranty replacement the original was 03/2019. Are you able to offer any advice on how I can get this night mode turned on? I purchased the energy meter purely for house consumption and would love the entire 24hr period to be captured.

+1 for this; my energy meter only reports during the day when the system is online; it appears the inverter turns off at night so doesn't show load on house when sun isn't shining :/

Hi Mark, this is very informative. I have just had the S100 installed in a new home purchase that came with a 6.6kw system with a 5kw Sungrow SG5K-D inverter. The problem is that the installer refuses to look at it. Despite the previous owner leaving us all the info, proof of purchase and the system being within warranty, the installer refuses to honor the warranty as I am not his customer. Anyway, that is very much my problem to deal with. The S100 since being installed has not changed anything. It looks like the inverter is not aware that it is there. Are there settings in iSolarCloud that I need to change or make a change on the inverter? The installer i used is not familiar with the system so they are not sure. Ideally, if you can take me on as a customer and login in to my iSolar Cloud and hopefully fix this that would be great.

Hi Roger, yes that's correct, the smart meter will measure what you're consuming from the grid, as well as any excess power you send back to the grid.

Hi, i have mine installed 2 weeks ago and I'm noticing a spike in Watts in the mornings and when my solar starts producing over 1000watts. Is this normal?
