Hi Jase, I have got to be honest cos we all have our own opinions but this is something that I can't get my head round !! Yes it is a lovely piece of engineering but it doesn't do anything that lots of other pods do. It's a stand to hold the rods and adjusts to position them to suit the way you want, apart from that it doesn't serve any other purpose. Yes it looks lovely but at £400 it should do ! You can get a good few cheaper pods for £400 that will serve the same purpose. Another thing is that stainless seems to have made a come back , I thought the idea of camo was to be as discreet as possible but then we go and put a highly polished stainless steel rod stand at the water's edge which if fish were feeding in the margin close to it all it would take is the sun to shine and reflect off the stainless and those fish will be gone. Finally I look at how it all packs down into the nice small case but with all the alarms, receiver, and hangers there's getting on for a £1000 in that one little bag. So I am sorry but it just doesn't do it for me. This is purely MY OPINION. and not a rant.👍👍
i aggree mate defo on the shine but i dont like margin fishing anyway so am sound there, its more adjustable with the extra sticks what i dont have yet but i cant see the point in buying two massive stainless steel storm poles to use very little in my type of fishing so when needed ill use the ones of my bivvy, its like a dream to me this ive allways wanted one and i just made my dream come true eventuly, yes i aggree theres other pods simlar ie summit but i just never got the buzz of them like i did this one
The pod I use is a Home made DIY version of that one and i love it. (not made by me )But If for any reason i had to replace it, this model here is exactly what i would get, very tidy peace of kit 👍and as you say totally adaptable. cheers Matt
I've seen some reviews where a few people say that when fishing 1 rod down the margin with rod pod pointing out in to the lake, the main bar locking collar isn't the best with its circular design and has twisted when they've had a run and sometimes it's even toppled the pod. Have any of you had this issue?
No luke I did another vid on this subject, but the whole pod is made out of stainless steel with the little carbon over sleeves, for this to break they must be bashing it around
It looks nice but doesn't work that reliably the locks on the legs not very positive and the thumb screws that secure the main centre bar also a bit lacklustre , just to add to the whinging some of the stainless can rust ~ a lot of money for something that isn't all that great , sadly if I'd had a chance to use it in advance I would have given it a steer 😕
Yeah mate,I understand you totally.if it is something that you have always wanted then go for it you go to work day in day out so why shouldn't you have things that you want??!! I love the boat 'in a minute' that proper made me giggle. Looks a nice bit of kit once you've got the hang of it. The gps facility looks handy, The way I see it is this..... You have wanted a set up like this for years. Some people go on foreign holidays or buy a new car, it's your money mate and is up to you what you spend it on. I know there has been a bit of tension between you and a few others but its not my business and I just like to get on with everyone but if someone upset me then fuck them I don't want them around me. I think we have got a pukka family, & am looking forward to actually getting to fish with you, Brian and the other lads which hopefully will happen one day. In the meantime mate enjoy your fishing and take care of yourself and your family, you must have a good woman behind you mate.
i dont work for solar so dont know that question as i dont have the other one, more than likely it dont have the carbon and is cheaper,i do know tho the p1 range is more adjustable where the other one might just be a fixed pod like the summit pods ,sorry i cant be anymore help
