Wow! Quite strange. My guess would be the usage of a wrong cable size and or a naked joint (with loose taping) just like u pointed out

From the news i heard, it's likely caused by a lithium battery fire from inside the printing press shop, located at murg plaza, Abuja.

Without proper investigation, that's just them jumping into conclusion. Chances are that something else started the fire which got escalated by the supposed batteries.

And also any connection of solar panels in parallel MUST be fused, go n verify.

yes it can , it starts from the wire which is flammable then spreads to your roof and down to the wooden framework that support for the roof

This is caused by arcing MC4 connectors. Poor quality MC4 connectors cause. I have had this experience twice in my country with a certain solar panel brand. I would wish to verify if it's the same solar panel. This brand is also selling in Nigeria. Anyone who can get us this information for collaboration is welcome.
