Hey to everyone!!
We are two young adults, Despina 22 and Deivids 23 renovating an old farm house from 1817 in Latvia.
Everything in and out of our house has been done by ourselves with no hired help.
DIY is going to apply to nearly everything in our house. Our budget is tight and that has made us appreciate every “ugly” part of this house and turn it into something new and beautiful.
We give new life to things that others would throw away!
In this journey we are not alone! We are starting up our little Farmily:
5 Goats & 6 Goat Babies
3 Sheep & 3 Sheep Babies
4 chickens
1 Rooster
and 3 Geese
Oh yeah and our cat Ivi
Despite our daily problems we are two young people full of joy and happiness, ready to start a new crazy chapter in our life. It wouldn’t be fair to keep this fun just for us!
That’s why we want YOU to also be part of our Farmily!!

I just want to reiterate what others have said, please don't be discouraged by Trolls. For over two years I haven't been able to go out and about like before because of Covid. I can't even begin to say what a difference your videos of your lives, animals and all the work you have put in to the farm has made to me. It has taken me out of my flat and into a world I would love to live in. So stay positive through the ups and downs of life. Even a rainy day can bring fun and productivity. Bless you both for bringing so much comfort and happiness to us all. :)

My explanation for my comment. In the last few days there have been several people complaining about the length and or volume of the videos, a few threatening that they were going to unsubscribe, one even claimed that he had unsubscribed and one of these people two weeks ago was vulgar, using profanity about the length and or volume of the videos. I didn't want these two wonderful kids to be influenced by a couple of complainers, I was just sticking up for the farmily.

You can also use the solar power to light the animal enclosure in the winter, with low watt lighting. 😎👍 Maybe Christmas lights?

As is the case with many others, I am largely confined to the house, except when taking my wife to doctors, hospitals, fetching treatments etc, to fight her stage 4 cancer, with some other mobility challenges. Covid was a complication we could well do without, but she has had that also. So, your videos are a measure of enlightenment in otherwise dark days, it is inspiring to see two people throw time, and effort into building their joint pleasures building success and learning together. Your care and success with the animals, their joyful enjoyment of the sunny pastures, show how worthwhile your efforts have been. So, sometimes I might make comments about things you might develop further, steps you might need to think about. Life is a journey, and not for the first time, things are unsettled, perhaps a little perilous, but that is no reason to give up on the future. Your animals do not give up, they do what you do, and we must all do, carry on and try to make tomorrow a tiny bit better than today. We can only ever do, only what we can each do. Your farm is starting and progressing well on a long, journey, I enjoy seeing you progressing day by day, accepting there will be setbacks, but your spirit and continued efforts will see you through. I hope to be watching you get ever further forward. The solar support for the electric fence is one more worry off your minds, I am all for keeping things simple and labour saving.

All the animals are so content. The storks are about to have a family, that's so cool. Yes ,rust is awful. I had an old car that rusted around headlights and I hit a bump and one fell out.

Surface rust on the body and fenders is not as critical as underbody rust and rust on structural components. I have a twenty year old truck that looks bad, but it is structurally sound and in good mechanical condition, which is more important for safety. I like the idea of adding solar panels and a wind generator to the homestead. With enough deep cycle batteries, the proper sized converters and regulators you can have back up power for your home if the power goes out. Which here in the MidWest of the U.S. can happen in the winter, spring or fall due to weather conditions.

Yeah the rust on the fender doesn't really affect the safety, but they are very strict here about it and everything needs to be fixed before we get Technical inspection and it's a yearly test without it car can't be on the road. Underbody of this car is in very great shape barley any rust that's why I am considering keeping it and fixing it up to look very nice 😁

IN the USA we call that "Bondo" on the car ..Poo Poos want you to wash the car .... and those teenage boys need to go w daddy or put foam insulation tubes around the horns ...!! trolls can go to hell but they watched and commented that's the $ you need !! and 4 babies (maybe) CRANES!! much LOVE to you all !!

Hi guys, love the drone footage Mrs Stork has 4 eggs, so nice. Everything is budding and greening up. Hope the sale of the boys goes smoothly,you may have to move them in with the big boys. Free electric fencing great idea. Car maintance has to be done MOT, road worthiness. You did a good job David, it should last for hopefully a few years. Salt and rain doesn't help wheel arches or door sills. Had my car underbody sealed a few years back and it's still holding. I don't get as much rain as you. Heat is a big killer here for tyres/ plastic components of a car. 4 tyres every few years....Love your team work, have a good weekend, stay safe.

there are "bolt" type eye and hook. I would suggest, next time shopping purchasing those with fender washers. Should help you secure latch mechanism to the actual wood strength. oh another possible, you could cut a bit, weld eyes onto the bolt head. and install it with the nuts.

Be safe. Use your safety glasses. Don’t make me have to get after on you again young man. Eye protection so important. My father had a blind eye from metal working in the factory. Later in life his good eye stop working from being over worked. Medical advance they were able to replace the lenses on the damage eye and he was able to see. I agree. When you were building your enclosure l did wonder at the use of wood for your fencing as it wouldn't have held our sheep and goats tend to be rougher on fencing material. We had to use metal railings. I guess you used what you had at the time

I’ve been watching since your first episode and just LOVE what you guys have done with the place! I think you both are GREAT! Thank you for speaking English. I put the CC on (my husband is deaf so it’s always on) and it helps me with your accents. I don’t always need it but every once in a while I stop and think, “wait, what”? Just trying to process something you’ve said. But I promise it’s not you, it’s me. I do the same thing with my husband. Sometimes a deaf man doesn’t always pronounce words where one understands. But we just roll with it and have fun.

If you wrap wire like a wire hanger around the post and the wood sticking up on the top of the gate to hold it closed and slide up and down to release the gate. A chain or tie they can't chew?

maybe change the gate latch to a chain around the post, or maybe adjust her gate to open to the inside? maybe Lima needs to find a new forever home? Maybe he should have safety goggles and a mask on when he uses the grinding wheel. My dad had a chunk fly off and hit him in his eye lid and it bothered him for years and years.

hey if you want to control your goat try putting the gate inside so it opens inward not outward and put the latches outside to keep her from opening it inward. also goats like to fight for dominance to establish a pecking order. so goats with horns being with goats that are dehorned or polled will cause alot of damage to the hornless goats.( putting small horn sized pieces of pool noodles on the horns and taping it on will help reduce the damage to the other goat) also if you want to minimize hay loss from the feeders build a feeder with keyhole shaped slots big enough for the goat to stick its head through while it eats. for the goats with horns id say keeping an open feeder like you have works.
