I remember it as clearly as it was yesterday. My only source of "techno" at that time was MTV: U96, Usura, 2 Unlimited etc. I was at a demo party and a friend of mine who was responsible for ampification came to me with a huge smile on his face, waved a CD with "Acid Flash 1" on its cover and inserted it. The above track kicked in and I got dropped into another dimension. I was completely sober yet I was sitting there in total confusion and awe. My response must have been similar to a caveman's, seeing a rocket launch. It was a complete life changer regarding my relation to music (and quite possibly what kind of person I became). Needless to say, still a favorite of mine and always will be!
my 8 years old son heard this track playing and said, mum this one is a real rave. totally agree! :D this is for sure the most acidic ACID TRANCE track I have found so far . George Fleming-Saunders is truly unique artist.
One main thing why Acid Air Raid was an acid revolutionary track is that back in the 90’s at the peak of acid music, all tracks were using one simple 303 pattern, or at least 2 or 3 at the very max in one single track. We were all used to a one-pattern only tracks, looping over and over. Then this thing arrived and dropped like a bomb, a track that literally BEAT the shit out of the 303, pattern after pattern into a very complex acid composition. Very unique (and still is when you think about it, I haven’t heard anything yet that uses as many patterns and complex shift in a 303 track)
On my red vinyl (The limited original 12" version) there is an engraving that says: "The acid air raid will smash your ego and educate your consciousness."
Mark McKenzie It will most certainly humble you good and teach you a harsh lesson, I can wholeheartedly agree to that! :D I remember it like it was yesterday.... among the longest twelve minutes of my life xD
OH MY FUCK I've been searching for this track for 20 years! I've had the beginning in my head and some of the buildup and I knew I'd know it instantly once I found it. EPIC!!!
Brutal and mean acid track that blows away pretty much everything. I friend of mine few weeks ago decided to drop this massive acid beast in right in the middle of his set, starting it at the very beginning with the monster intro. He played the track entirely. Now let me tell you this, it literally destroyed the whole room and all the people in there were completely blew away by this acid storm. And it’s 2019, crushing ALL the previous and next tracks in his entire set! Who knew this track would still ravage dancefloors 25 years later.
You have more access to this music than we ever did to be honest. Now there are countless repositories, like this channel, to help you find it all. We mostly just had word of mouth, and maybe luck we heard it playing at a party. Skies the limit now.
Sometimes a song can... affect you. It can leave a mark on your psyche. Taking psychedelics, all of your walls are down. There was nothing standing between me and this song. It would take me up higher than I wanted to go, and when I thought it was winding down, it would start climbing again. It broke me twice, and put me back together 3 times. It was brutal. And it kept on going! I was afraid it would never end and sad because I knew it had to. I was so far gone, I thought the air raid sirens were outside... I didnt know the name of the track.
This a masterpiece! Greatest acid / techno track I know of, or have ever heard. People debating what style it is, could be, should be, must be are completely nuts, it does not matter whatever drawer they want to put it in, this is as awesome as a 303+909 track can go/be.
maybe the most "surprising" about this track is it was composed by those who made "singtree".. what an amazing talent to cover such a wide scope of genre with equal creativity... genius!
Yes. This track is epic in every sense. So controlled, powerful, ultimately dancable. It penetrates your mind. (I don't use this kind of words often - this track really is extraordinary.)
Huge fan of Solar Quest I deseperately looking for a track of him called "A State Ov Now" it's m'y tennage years athem ! Antoine have it cause i didn't find it Cheers Maxime
Agreed. That is the nature of the 303, only a select few artists actually take it beyond the standard patterns. I just remembered how much I love Nostrum.
This track has been around for a long time, but it is still one of the most amazing acid trance songs ever made. enjoy it all the way through then search Age of love - Age of love.
Oh fuck yes!!!!! This was one of my favorite trax from back in the day...still gives me goosebumps! ComputerControlled, if you are who i think you are, i believe you used to spin this one in my livingroom! ;)
Seen hell breaking loose one too many times with that one... and it was the chill out room song lol... oh I miss the 90 s... waterden road... oh the good old days...
