Between the four of them, I have seen some of the gimmicks you relate here. My level of trust in the industry has taken a hit, but your company's business practices have restored some of it!
I think price has gone up. The lowest bids among 10 bids I get in Kansas is $3.35/watt with REC 400 and IQ8M inverters. No one willing to go lower. I contacted about 100 miles radius from my area.
