Yeah this system is decked out, although not as expensive as it used to be with today's pv and battery prices. And still cheaper than bringing in utility power for many places!
@@AltEStore approx how much for a system like this? also, can the house run on sunlight alone and charge the batteries at the same time? great to see you folks keeping on!!! this place looks great! similar to what i want to do soon
@@davidjaye710 This system cost about $50k, mainly due to the battery bank capacity and large array. The house charges its own battery bank throughout the day and runs loads at same time. The inverter output is smaller than the solar input, which means always a net positive for the batteries while the sun is out!
@@davidjaye710 I suspect the generator was a separate purchase. Our panel selection changes with market availability, so you can check out the current options here: www.altestore.com/store/solar-panels-c541/
*"have been", not "of been". My guess would be 25% on top of the construction costs of the house? I live in Europe in my rental apartment (about 650 sq ft) for 900 bucks a month, so "very expensive" is obviously relative.
Yes this system provides enough power for the home to operate like it has a stable grid connection, but with the proper energy budgeting a 1200SqFt house could get by with much less power.
if use an electric for heating, it is not big. maybe need to manage well to save energy while winter. if can heating without electric, maybe doubled capacity, it is too big for GTI, but not big for OFF_GRID system. because the limit of battery capacity, and maximum cloudy days to stand. in heavy cloudy day, it can generate 10~20% of energy, it is 5~10kWh only, if consider 3d continuous cloudy day, can get from battery 10kWh (3D+1), they have 15~20kWh energy 0nly. yes, if no heating with electric, no problem to survive, but, if heating with electric, tough ... I have 6kWh panels, and 30kWh battery system, and tried to survive without GRID... in summer and spring, no issue, in late fall, really hard, in winter, there is no way ~
Sucks, didn't get all the parts I ordered and no response. Project is set back two weeks. My 4 year old nephew has a better counting and project management skills than these people. Platt is amazing to work with!!!
