Great Video. I was getting a Dc voltage of 246 volts instead of the 370 VDC on input of the Solaredge Se 7600 US with 28 solar panels rated at 300watts each with optimizers. It was producing 5200 watts at the time it was tested. I thought it was wired wrong but every thing checked out correct. The Grid Tie solar system was 105 degrees when the 246 VDC was tested in Sept In Southern NV. A month later The utility finally connected their meters and the Inverter was fired up when The temp was 78 degree F. The Voltage maintained 370 VDC through out the solar cycle and the power peaked at 5800 watts, which is good for this time of year. So everything is okay now. it appears that the solar panels have a negative temperature coefficient causing the voltage to drop 100 VDC.
There are a dozen or more Solar Edge installation videos, all slightly different. Equipment isn't the same exactly and each video has a 'new' feature the others never spoke of. Here it's the "configuration tool" . Subtle but important questions aren't answered, like the strings. Why one string? Why two strings? After the physics, how do you connect them to the inverter? In conduit? Metal or plastic? What size? Where does the ground wire go? Is it necessary with the optimizers? I can't write fast enough to cover all the unanswered questions. With an Iron ridge racking system, do you ground the racks, the panels, the optimizers, all three or none? The bolt connectors from Iron ridge are grounded connectors, mostly. When is that good enough? I went with Solar Edge because Tesla is just a dream, you can buy but can't have their products, backordered almost a year.
Nobody said anything about the minimum number of panels for the inverter to work. My set up was six 370 watt panels on a 10k inverter and it didn’t work . The voltage/ power was not enough to close the relays . I googled it and it says the minimum # of panels is 8 …. Added 2 more and now it’s working
At 4:20 you say "Turn the inverter switch on". It is already on, you switched it on at 3:50. Then you configure the user buttons inside the inverter. Then you do pairing, then you turn the inverter on. Surely it is already turned on. So do you do the pairing with the inverter off or on?
i had a question please, i am working on a project about sizing PV system grid-tied , in my project i have to design the system the way that the inverter should shutdown the PV modules when there is a excess of electricity , because in our country it s not allowed to sell the surplus to the grid. at the same time, in bad conditions of the PV system, we need to take electricity from the grid. HELP plz !
nice video... but my monitoring software only worked for a few months.... called installer out, they "fixed it" then a month later it died. Repeat 5 times... The system still makes power, but the monitoring stuff sucks... zigbee i think the is name.
