Fun fact about the LX Sport: It was mostly a "civilian duty" Police Interceptor. The shorter axle-ratio, firmer suspension for better handling(but still big American car comfy), 17" wheels, dual-exhaust, heavier duty cooling and oil cooler, and obviously discount Marauder styling, just without the 32V 4.6. Not a Ford guy, but I LOVE the Panther. Whomever ends up with this jewel will have a car that will last until the next century!

Great Police car. I drove one for 10 years before it was replaced by a Dodge Charger and now a Ford Taurus. Crown Vic was the best. Reliable and spacious compared to the Charger. I put mine through the ringer and back. The Charger was always at the shop. I only have 14K on the Taurus so I can’t comment. Taxi cab drivers also love them. I turned mine in with 160k and still going strong.

This is a great find especially with the center console. The Mercury Marque was the poor mans Town Car but this one can hold it's own.

I have a 1999 Grand Marquis I got last year with 52K miles. Old man passed and I found it and bought it for $5000. Scotty Kilmer made a video out of it too!

Man if my 02 Continental ever crapped out on me I would snatch this thing up in a heart beat- that is just a sweet ass 'Vic. Rarely ever see these LXs. Probably more ideal as a purchase too then a used Marauder as they tend to get the piss beaten out of them- I'm told to avoid them in any case. Had a 95 Grand Marquis for years and just loved that thing- they are just awesome cars -no question, and they tow a shit ton of weight which is a bonus. My 'Conti only has 108k on its 32V though which is nothing so I'll have to continue to "suffer":-) Good video, keep up the great finds.....

Had a '92 LX, one of the first on this platform. The '92 had a modern aero look that I liked. Had leather interior and the rear air suspension. Upgraded the stereo to a Kenwood unit, and with 4 aftermarket speakers, unit had plenty of bass as the cabin was so quiet. Worked for a Ford dealer at the time and someone had traded it in with just 6,000 miles for a Taurus SHO. Original MSRP was around $24,000 but the dealer had booked the car in at $16,500. I purchased the car myself as I was most impressed with the smooth V8 and liked the light blue exterior with dark blue interior. As a Honda salesman with access to the Ford store, I often recommended the Crown Vic to my sedan buyers, but few were interested and most purchased the Taurus instead, or the Accord 4-door sedan. I have an LX Sport the same color combo except the 2004 model year. Beautiful car, and have owned it for over 10 years. It’s a second car that might get 1,500 miles a year and is garaged in the winter. I have the original window sticker as well. Even though I’ve had several people offer to buy it over the years I never sold it. Probably never will. The person who buys the one in this video will be getting a gem. These are beautiful cars and wonderful to drive.

Awesome. Love it. It’s probably more comfortable than most new cars. The only thing I don’t like is the antenna. It would be OK if it was a power antenna. I remember my 83 had a power front antenna I really liked that. The quirky thing about the 83 was the horn was in the turn signal lever. You pushed it in toward the column to honk. If was a great car and this 2005 is even better and will last for hundreds of thousands of miles. Or keep it low mileage for show. The MPG is not bad even by today’s standards. Some day, some day...

I love these Panther platform units the Mercury too. That interior really looks supreme in this unit. The guy that traded this in took one heck of a beating on it. My Lord this is a keeper! This unit is better that that new stuff they are pushing. They never should have stopped making these and the Mercury's. This unit will.go fast Anthony! Wish it was in my garage! The exterior rear mounted radio atenna was offered on the crown vics for the 2005 model year only. Then the were discontinued for the remainder of the run (2006-2011). I believe they did if for better radio reception, but who knows for sure ???

What a great find. Nice southern, not baked from the fun. Even with very minor cosmetic flaws its in beautiful shape. Surprised that the door catches are all missing their striker bushing...especially on a garaged southern car. You see them missing on the baked cars normally. Good luck with the sale, what a gem.

I just inherited a gorgeous burgundy 1995 crown vic from my 90 yr old mom. She and my car buff dad bought it new for 21K. That was a lot of money back then. 111 miles. wonder what I could sell it for? It is located in Central Florida.

$5377 to $6108 is a fair price for this car with its mileage, so $8000 would be fair, but pushing it. $17000 is way over priced.

Actually the antenna was a one year thing, the 2003-04 and 06 t0 2012 Crown Victoria's and Grand Marquis 's all had the glass intergrated antennas. Not sure if it was a attempted cost cutting feature or lack of hardware for the 2005 production year.

2005 is the only year from 98-2011 that there was a mast antennaon all panthers including townies. All other years had the antenna in rear glass. Also at $17k id want 100% flawless paint and cosmetics...

Truly exquisite. It would hurt me to the core to trade this in on a new Ford...there is just no comparison. When these Panthers are all dried up and gone that's it.

You just don't find Crown Vics like this. 99% of them were P71 cop cars, completely trashed out and beaten like a rented mule. Grand Marquis and Town Cars, yeah you can still find ones this nice(maybe not this low mile) because those were what granny/gramps bought back in the 2000's as their last car. Old people didn't buy Crown Vics.

Too bad Ford Motor quit making these big sedan style cars. They also quit the Mercury Grand Marquis in 2011 and I had one bought new in 2006 till some jerk ran into me and totalled it but then, even so, I absolutely loved it. Easy to maintain, comfortable & cheap to buy used and operate if you can find a good senior owned. Everything made now all seem to run together and appear to have no future collectability factors to them. Imaging 20 years from now someone displaying a mint condition Kia......Big deal! Americana has gone away in automobiles and I would love to see these big old cars come back somehow from some creative car maker.

OMG, that has to be the nicest used Crown Vic in existence. That's a really nice good used car in almost new condition. $16k is a most high price for a good used Crown Vic, but this is the very nicest one. I got a nice 2009 with 104k miles for $4500 cash last September that doesn't have a back seat for it was a K9 transport though I'm fine with that for it's lots of good cargo space and I only have 1 person with me when I bring someone along. $4500 to $6000 is the usual upper cash money prices on these, but this one in the video is most rare and so nice.

The only thing I have to say about this one is, it must already sold. Car is fifteen years old, barely broken in. Will definitely outlive it's next owner if they take care of it. Even if they don't, it will still run. I have a Mercury Grand Marquis LS of the same year and I adore it!!!

Another interesting fact is 2005 is the only year of the CV and Grand Marquis that had the external radio antenna mounted on the RR quarter panel. All of them P71,P73,P74(LX and LX Sport) / GS, LS. It's a dead giveaway for a 05'. I had a 04 Mercury Marauder and this was indeed the Ford equivalent (minus the 32V DOHC upgrade equipped on Marauders). LX Sports are the rarest of the Panther platform next to the Grand Marquis LSE which also had the center console shift/air ride/monochromatic exterior like the LX-S. Their was also a performance and handling PKG Towncar too available on the Signature on the prior gen

My grandparents have a exact twin to this, Never realized it was such a uncommon packaged car.

I have the 2005 Mercury GM version of this car, but strangely enough mine is not an LSE, just an LS Premium with the Handling Package, but mine didn't come with the 17" wheels and tires, just the stock 16" Premium wheels... Go figure?
