I've had my eye on these camper's a few year's now. They just keep getting better with time. I love the off road package, and outdoor fridge. I will own one someday, I'm up in West Michigan since you was asking. I drive Jeep Wrangler so I wouldn't be interested in one without an off road package, I think that's what make's these so awesome!!! This with the new added feature's, just has me more motivated to get some finances in order to get one.
Been flip-floppin’ back ‘n forth between the Winnebago 1700BH, the Apex 185BH, and this here model for several months now... I think this is “The One” ☝🏻 because it seems to be the best suited for dry camping and getting off-road.
You need to do more small RV reviews for small families with two kids or couple with no kids.. not many of us are into mega hardcore RVs that require dually trucks to haul. We need simple budget friendly for small young families..
From the Upper Peninsula and camp at many different National Forest Campgrounds as well as off grid boondocking. So a BIG yes on Off Road Pkg., 2 L.P. tanks and 2 batteries. I drive a Toyota FJ Cruiser and want to be able to pull my trailer where my rig takes it!
I’ve had my 2018 model 16bh for 6 months now. Extremely well built. Still looking for my first defect or problem. Can’t find any.😀 The Off Road package is awesome. Looks great and is super functional when camping in the desert or mountains here in California. Two thumbs up!
Planning on purchasing this in the spring. I'd really like to have a memory foam topper for the dinette, but where would I store it? Where do you store your bedding for the dinette?
@@ShellieSager Usually foam toppers like that aren't overly difficult to roll and store on a bunk when not in use. The small size of a little camper is great, but certain accommodations need to be considered with them as well.
we have a 4" topper from costco. we roll it and the blankets up together. roll it toward the nose of the camper, then leave it there. leftover side benches and table is still plenty big for 4 people.@@ShellieSager

I saw a 2018 model of these while traveling a couple of weeks ago in a campground, and was going to send a request for a video on the model when I got back in town. Got back yesterday, and opened up the new available videos on the channel and saw this!

This 16BH reminded me more of a flipped Jayco Hummingbird 17BH ( compared to the 174BH ), but the Jayco 17BH has the "wet" bathroom. Awesome to see this have all it has at it's size. Even small things some other people might overlook, like a sink in the bathroom. We really liked the Wolf Pup 18TO, but it was hard to sell that to the rest of the family without a second sink in or beside the bathroom. Anyway, thanks again!
Just researching some smaller campers to tow with a Jeep Wrangler. Stumbled on this model and your video. Out west, I prefer the Off Road package and how great this model is equipped!
@@cparent2012 Checking pressure and not exceeding specs is what you should be doing regardless of a tire's origin. Other than Goodyears all trailer tires are made in China. That doesn't mean they're trash by any means. RVIA requirements prevent the use of underrated tires in the towable RV industry & have for years.
I've watched a ton of these videos and this is probably my favorite RV. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and the off-road package would be great around here. There are a lot of spots in state and federal forest that may not require big tires, but it sure wouldn't hurt.
A quick tire swap is easy enough thankfully. We've started building more geo pros with a more involved equipment package that typically includes things like the off-road package and roof mounting rack for things like bikes/kayaks, etc.
OK you asked if we like the Off Road package..YES!!! especially when boon docking; the height is better so you don't bust the black and grey water outlets. Some roads get a bit tricky when your camper is lower. AND I like the dual propane and batteries. Boon docking is getting bigger and bigger. Just watch say; "cheaprvliving" on youtube, lol. More and more people are starting to boon dock and I am one of them. I am from Livonia, MI and go out west to Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and even Montana to the National Parks and Forests. Yes on the off roading from here in south Texas. It's a plus when your RV can go places with your truck that other RVs can't. But I'm more interested in the model that doesnt have the bunk beds
I really like this RV. Small yet fully habitable and functional. You mentioned to say where we are from and leave a comment. Well, I am from Quebec, Canada. This RV seems to be high quality and with mould resistant materials, that is a plus with our weather here. Also, the off-road package would work for me. I’d prefer it because of where I live, to have it higher during winter. And I have a Jeep, which means this RV would not only look good behind my Jeep, but it would follow it better than not having the off-road package.
I absolutely want the off road package. Why? I have loved in Washington state and Idaho all my life. We deal with wet constantly. Mud and bad weather is always on the thoughts. Mud especially and two snow in Idaho and Ice is no joke. Now a few thing why! I definitely have traveled with a trailer before so one would be keeping the RV from sliding off the road sideways. Often Off the road when you have normal slick, non grip tires. Second because alot of the time in the central states we just might have to find an RV spot off grid and could entail going off road a little. Maybe the start of an off road jeep trail or field owned by the state. Also I pull off on logging roads to get out into nature and often they are very bumpy and rough. Not only that it might mean taking your RV off into an old camping space that's been abandoned on these roads. Basically off the beaten path that you'll need the clearance. I'd say tires and clearance being most important. Then Ice and snow with those off road tires from sliding sideways truly just as important. I've been an off road enthusiastic all my life, well from a teen till now at 48yrs old. Thank you for doing a fantastic job. Love you're show. Always saving them to into the near future to buy my own RV to travel around America and where the road takes me. Now just need the rig and a woman to go with me. Out in Arizona. Jeeper. We love to overland. Wife doesn't want a rooftop tent or tiny teardrop and has to have a nice bathroom. This is our favorite camper so far because it has to be off road capable.

Yes we offroad with a Jeep Rubicon. Used to tow a Rockwood 1910ESP......lift and mud tires 👍. We would order a Geopro with the offroad package. NC, TN, VA mountains ..........
LOVE my 2019 Rockwood 16 BHb Geo. I love the bunks, used to have a Jayco , with bunks. I traded the Jayco in and I am a happy camper.!!! It is built much better, worth, The $$$. One thing, I would like to know is where is the control center ??? Or brain for the slide out? I wish you were our salesperson, I was left with many questions.
Sounds like you would've benefited greatly from a better walk-thru when you bought the RV. The slide motor itself is actually in the wall around the slide.

Hey Uncle Josh since the u-shaped dinette would be the bed for the adults I would pay for a custom teddy bear mattress double the thickness for it an have it the exact size as the u-shaped dinette is in sleeping mode. The teddy bear mattress is really comfortable since they are making them a little thicker. What is your thought on that idea Uncle Josh? Leonard your number one fan an friend from NC. This one is more me because it gives me the option to not see the bed. And the dinette fits more than 2 people. Saw a video of an RPod. Was impressed with their dinette area and kitchen counter space. I would rather the dinette table on this model would fold down vs having to screw the legs on the floor. Just my opinion, I think it would be nice to have curtains for bed area for privacy on models where there’s a fixed bed. Do these bunks have curtains? Thanks.
It's been a while and I've seen hundreds of RVs since I recorded this. Regarding curtains please give our team a call as I simply cannot recall and don't like to just make things up lol

Really like this model. From AZ and yes on the off road pkg because I do lot's of dry camping out in the forest of AZ, UT, CO, CA. If there was one complaint that I could make (and it's a small one) is that all the Geo Pro's only have 1 speaker inside and out instead of 2 stereo left and right speakers. Pricing out west here seems higher than back east on these units.
I hear the pricing is a bit higher out there pretty commonly. I think the logic is "Enough people will pay us more money instead of going East to get their RVs so we can make good money doing it." I really like the use of space in this travel trailer! I'm interested in living in something like this for extended periods of time. Is there any trailer like this that have a large upper bunk with a living area below? I'm imagining a small couch with tv under the bunk and a twin size mattress above.
What you're describing is a somewhat classic setup for small campers that has largely phased out of the current generation of RV production. It's possible SOMEONE builds that way, but I'm not aware of one personally.
Rear camera prepped standard Optional Camera (or we can add one here for the same cost -- same camera even) Includes a hand-held monitor you can use in the cab of your vehicle.
*Probably* I've not tested it, but I think it would do the trick. We'd have no issues if a client wanted to bring their own generator and test a unit real quick on the lot.
Can we add cover on top of the slide out for 2022 model? Is there way to adjust the height of top bed when we do not need to sleep person , so just convert it to a kind of storage and let people has more head space for lower bed?
I don’t believe they offer that for 2022 either. I am not sure there’s enough of a height drop from the sidewall to the slide flange It’s possible if installed a slide awning could cause things like water to actually be directed TOWARD the rv instead of away

Not sure. I cannot really speak on their behalf. I can only estimate with the smaller size they didn't feel a 2nd set of speakers was necessary Again, I'm a big fan of things like portable bluetooth speakers
I think the larger tires and height is a good idea but I don’t see the need for an aggressive tread pattern. These are not drive wheels so why do they need extra traction? I’m sure they don’t wear as well or ride as well on smooth surface roads.
I'm looking for something like this but instead of bunks in the back it has a door like rsk and a little garage for my bikes. Anything? I may have to build one up that way. My bikes cost almost as much as one of these, lol. I'm from Idaho and would want the 4X4 package.
Josh, Which version of solar panel on the roof is better - the flat flexible solar panels or the sturdy ones with more rigid frames to have the solar panel slightly off the roof surface for air circulation? Does the solar panel/s need air circulation under the panel/s? Thanks.

We hear you Josh, and although you help your family and the sales team by making these very informative videos the flip side of that is we want YOUR perspective and YOUR answers to questions that help us fine tune what we are looking for. With small travel trailer like this, the owner really needs to learn to to live the Japanese way.... Jayco designed this Geo Pro series based on Japanese design philosophy and small space living and efficiency...... true off grid travelers love small trailer like this one....
@@JoshtheRVNerd it's so true.... when we combine Japanese interior design philosophy with Swedish aesthetic style together, we get the best living efficiency..... we Americans are such wasteful creatures.... it's mind boggling see an old couple driving around in their 40+ feet diesel pusher motorhome around our land polluting our air..... we Americans have no environmental responsibility at all.... all we care is our own comfort and space..... like Whitney Houston once sang, "We said we needed space but all we found was an empty place" in her Where Do Broken Hearts Go song.... all these retirees need space in their motorhomes but all they have is empty space.... wasteful .....
Little campers like these (Geo Pro included) are not specifically made for cold weather use. No Rockwood is designed with sub freezing temps in mind. They are extended season at best.
Tough to spend this kind of cash and not have a dedicated master bed. I get it, there are always trade offs, only so much will fit in such a small formate.

Maybe I missed you saying something in the video - when inside you talked about the slide, and it looked like it was pulled in. Talking outside, it looks like it is pulled out. Did you pull it out for the outside tour, or was it actually already out? thx
Inside the RV i began with the slide closed. Then, opened it to finish the remainder of the interior. The slide is out the entirety of the exterior portion. Does that help?

20ft tip to tail. That would be both the 19FBS and 19FD. They're purpose-built for their size and weight. After that you creep into the smaller Mini Lite series of Rockwood RVs.
Hey Josh got a couple of questions for you is there any difference between a Rockwood Geo -Pro and a E-Pro? I mean they look basically the same inside and out is this the Geo-Pro with a name change I was just wondering.Also can the Geo-Pro be safely pulled with a Dodge Grand Caravan since it is below 3,000lbs because we were thinking a Geo-Pro with a Dodge Grand Caravan with the stow in go seats would be ideal for us at this time. :) I just wanted to make sure before we invest in a different vehicle and then whoops can't haul the camper for lack of pulling power!
Flagstaff is the Clone of a Rockwood. There are more Rockwoods sold by about 2-to-1, so they tend to carry a slightly higher resale. But peel off the stickers and yeah -- they're the same. Some places will try to tell you one is better than the other. That's nonsense. I'd rather shoot you straight and earn your business thru integrity than dishonesty.

I'm not sure where you're referencing mounting one, but I can say this is not designed with the idea of mounting a moped to it from the factory level. Also, without specifics on the moped I can't really offer a more specific answer.

This model with a slide runs almost exactly the same as the 19BH without a slide which can be seen at bit.ly/2ISRWOV The 19BH quickly became vastly more popular due to the fact it has almost exactly the same weight and cost as the 16BH. Also, despite what the model numbers may lead you to believe they're almost the same length as well. The 19BH also has a full time bed for the adults and a better bathroom setup.
The chassis is not deep enough to allow proper flow from area to area. Required two drains. Minor inconvenience easily outweighed by all the other benefits a model like this offers compared to something like a teardrop-style camper.
I believe those can be up to 3,500lb tow rating. Assuming that, this could be within specs, but at the upper limit of where you want to be. For local/flat land towing? Probably okay. Want to do some serious traveling? You'll be technically safe, but I don't think you'd enjoy the towing experience.
