The day we moved to a new house in a new neighborhood, me and my mom has been unpacking for a while when we noticed there was no cat complaining to be fed. We panicked, I went around the block, it was dark outside. We couldn’t find him anywhere, I cried. Two hours later I went to grab clothes out of my almost empty suit case and guess who was in there. The suit case was unzipped but closed, he decided he didn’t like the new smells so he took a nap in my laundry.

When I was a kid, my brother took our two cats to pet day at school so that he and a friend without a pet could have one. His cat named Tiger ended up getting loose. His school was 8 miles away and across a major highway with 6 lanes. We looked day and night for that cat. Bought fish from Captain D's to try and lure him out. Well, three days pass and I'm dead asleep in bed with my mom (I was young and she was comforting me about it) and we hear scratching at the Window! There was Tiger! It was a great day and a marvel that he made it back by himself!

Omg I didn’t think that pet day was a real thing. 🤯I’m from Germany, so we definitely do not bring pets to school ever, unless it’s a service dog, or a therapy/ school dog. Do you really just bring your pets to school? For the entire day? Do they not stress out and get lost all the time? I’m legit wondering how that works. I only ever heard of pet day in tv shows or cartoons (I think, I don’t really remember) & I thought it was just made-up

Always a good tip with lost cats, leave their litter box near where they were lost. They are attracted to their own scent.

I'M SO GLAD HE WAS FOUND !!!! I literally said, "yay !!!" when the update said he was found 🥺 This makes me happy after weeks of not seeing my girly around my house anymore.... She's feral, so I can't imagine what happened to her, it was always so casual for her to not come for a few days, but I haven't seen her in so long and I miss her so much..... I can only hope that she's doing well somewhere else

Cats are some of the HARDEST animals to find. You can get them chipped, but unlike dogs, it's uncommon for a civilian to pick up strays. They are very often overlooked even by animal control, unless participating in a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, or responding to call outs. I'm so happy that the community was able to band together, and find her cat. I hate the, "it's just a cat" mind-set, they are so much more than that. Pets really are family, and it warms my heart that he was found alive and somewhat okay. Def rough but could've been worse.

I can't even imagine how devistating that would be, my cat (kittums) was missing for less than 24 hours after she fell off the balcony. I spent the entire day alternating between searching through bushes, and sobbing inconsolably. I told every person I passed about her, and the $200 reward. Some kids found her in a bush. She had a sprained back paw, and was extra scared of car noises and barking dogs for months.

My cat who was indoor/outdoor at the time went missing for 14 or 15 days. Showed back up at my front door one evening. I bawled my eyes out with joy and relief. Then she started acting different and moody. Come to find out she had a fever that was brewing from an abscess on her leg that took several days to show itself. Her leg swelled up huge and I rushed her to the vet. Probably a snake or cat bite. They couldn’t tell. She’s indoor only now and 15 years old. I let her on the porch on a harness sometimes because she misses the outdoors.

My cat got out this past April and spent a whole week and a half looking, hanging posters, talking to neighbors, and set several traps. My husband even helped me walk a few miles in the middle of the night around our neighborhood with flashlights. We have a LOT of stray cats we never knew about. 😆 We bought a cheap trail camera on Amazon and saw her on it then set the trap the next night it was supposed to snow so I covered the plants with sheets from the house. Well, WE GOT HER BACK. She had the softest, cutest little mew in the trap when I saw it was her, like she was happy I found her. It was one of the worst weeks of my life but she is still safe and happy at home. She had extra fluff when she went missing and lost a few pounds too!

I absolutely love how everyone came together here to bring this Kitty home. I think our last cat had fell asleep in a lorry and travelled to Oldham. she must of been desperate because she followed my brother who brought her home and fed her, She was a Bengal and we tried finding owners putting up posters and putting online. Bengals are expensive so someone must of missed her, Anyway thinking of how the poor baby was outside in the cold starving just trying to survive is so sad. Especially when she goes nowhere near other strangers so the pure desperation she must of felt that day to follow my brother breaks my heart. She was still only about 9 months old aswell. Anyway I imagine she forgot all about her time on the streets eventually coz she had a great life with us. Just letting me this sweet boy with his family 😻😸😺😽

So glad that he was found in the end 🥺 Knowing me, if my hypothetical partner were to lose my cat this way, I would definitely have some resentment towards them up until the moment I got him back no matter how apologetic they are LOL Surely the gf's reaction is the more common one but I just know I'm an angry person and would be super pissed even if it's an accident 😭

I'm happy they found him, we lost our Beastie in Dec '19 shortly after moving and by the time we moved Aug '21 we still never found her. It still hurts. We are pretty sure she is still in our old cul de sac, but could never catch her in a trap and I couldn't help look after breaking an ankle.

Why couldn’t you have got in a wheelchair and looked for her??? I would have done anything if I lost my cats.
@WiseWordsbyWiki
@WiseWordsbyWiki 2 года назад
@@_rhea.b_1305 the area she was in was most likely behind the houses which were a slope into a lake. I would have ended up in the lake. Plus there were 3 able bodied people in the house to look and she was a nervous cat that didn't like most people. A wheelchair would have been way out of her comfort zone and I would have just scared her away. I also had odd ankle break that needed to be moved as little as possible to avoid surgery. Avoided surgery, did not avoid occasional pain flare ups.

@@WiseWordsbyWiki Fair enough, that makes sense. Was your cat chipped? Hopefully she’s safe out there
@WiseWordsbyWiki
@WiseWordsbyWiki 2 года назад
@@_rhea.b_1305 unfortunately not, I don't know why we didn't. She was a stray before we caught her and she avoids roads like the plague so I'm pretty sure she's safe from cars and hunger. What really sucks is we live in the part that stuck out into a lake with a road on the land part so it's more than likely she is still in that 20 house cal de sac, but we aren't even in the same state anymore. Plus I actually saw and manged to catch her two months before we left. But there was a dog and when it lunged she freaked and I ended up letting her go.

This story made me cry oh my gosh. As a cat mom this sort of thing is terrifying. Most people won’t pick up a cat outside to see if it’s chipped as a lot of cats are ferrel strays. I once had a kitten get out and it was the worst time ever thinking of my poor baby out all alone. Luckily he was found by a family and taken care of. We were looking for him and they were looking for us. So we got him back. And he lived a beautiful full life up until he passed away last year(diabetes’s complications🌈 so he’s crossed the rainbow bridge with his elderly brother) it’s so insanely hard to lose a pet to death but it’s so compareable to them running away or being lost. You don’t know if they’re okay or not and you sit and suffer thinking of all possible outcomes for them. I’m so happy the worst for this little guy was a few cuts, broken nails and hurt paws. It could have been so much worse for a strictly indoor cat. Other animals or humans…. I cried so hard. But even harder when she read he was home.

My two cats were indoor and outdoor cats since we had a huge backyard for them to explore. In our neighborhood there was this awful stray cat that would terrorize any animal that messed with him. He even scratched my huge bull mastiff that tried to go near him when he hopped in our yard. Well one day during a huge storm I didn’t see either cat, I ran outside in the pouring rain, thunder, and lightning looking through the yard and only found one who I managed to lodge from his hiding spot and sent him running towards the house. My mom waited by the door to tell me if the other cat ran back yet but still no. I ran over to my dads shed and peaked underneath where I knew he would hide from time to time and still nothing. Days went by, then weeks, then months and he never came home. One day my mom finally admitted that my dad found his body under our deck a few days after the storm and they say he was clearly attacked(the dogs and cats loved each other so we know it wasn’t them) so it was that POS stray cat who would sneak into our yard. I love reading stories like this couple because I love happy endings especially when it comes to animals but I’m not gonna lie I do get jealous that mine didn’t end happier. My little Hugo was the sweetest cat you would ever meet and damn such a gorgeous cat at that. Even my dad who didn’t want cats was in love with that little fur ball. I’m glad I wasn’t there when he found him because I’m sure he probably cried a little and that would have broke my heart more.

this story literally made me cry, my cat once did close to the same thing, my childhood home we had two houses and my grama and I lived in the main house and my uncle lived in the house he built, then we decided to switch houses. I have two cats who are very reclusive and skittish, they came from pretty rough environment as kittens infested with fleas and worms and the runt who I took as well as the second kitten to be born had a URI, anyways these girls are an easily spooked pair. the door was left open while moving in/out a bed or couch or something and then she was gone! gone for a week or so at least week.5 at most if I remember correctly. our backyard was a small creek, it had a huge tree that had grown on the side of the creek bed opposite of our properties, it created a little "den" in the roots, looked like a small fox den or close to it, she was in there scared crazy (they were only indoor cats at this point, only going outside during daytime as younger cats and then they would be too scared to continue going out as well as we got scared of them taking off and getting hit by a car we lived on a highway and whatnot) she was petrified stuck in this den starving, we left food out that went untouched, she just couldn't move, my grama spotted her somehow and got closer with food and she came running. it was an insanely joyful and relieving moment!
