California is a beautiful state, with beautiful architecture weather if you live in a nice area as i do, sure it can rough in some parts , its not for everybody though. It takes a high income to live in California but 200k a year is plenty enough to live a comfortable life in a beautiful state

Just curious, it looks like the rocks below the house were arranged and constructed to look natural. Were they there as a natural formation or did you have to do major landscaping to make it look that way? The effect is really amazing and I've never seen a riverfront home that had that particular rock feature between the house and river arranged so well.
There was major landscaping done to create this natural appearance. In the video it looks great, but seeing it live is even more incredible, hearing the river sound and smelling the country air. Just beautiful!
I wish I could hear it for myself... I can imagine the layers of rills sliding past in slowly waning sunlight. The currents pull a slight tug against your leg, like an insistent child urging you to look at it. The water a shadowy jade fringed with pinpricks of gold, twilight emanating a calm over the bone-colored rock, and as gray shadows tinged with purple collapse the tent of sky, the air becomes more acutely scented with pine. The superoxygenated forest air now crackling with a fire that becomes increasingly familiar here in this pocket of wild, a symbol that we are always as humans going to be attracted to the simple pleasure of smooth rock encompassing its flames, and there is a susurrus symphony playing in the air from either direction, tugging your attention to its musical waters to and fro. Watching the constant of the stream flowing past you from a smooth wooden chair, being reminded that Flow, or Tao, the ever-present guide of both internal nature and natural surroundings, is as constant as your heartbeat. The house is balanced with room after room experiencing perfect symmetry between the many faces of wood, bright or muted, always ingenious in its seeming simplicity. Its balance between light walls and wood framework is elegant, stark and effective. The long hallway is intimate and reminds one briefly of an upscale rural art gallery. The kitchen it opens up to with its polished earth colors is welcoming and sensible. The table captures the feeling of a shaded stream flecked with light ripples, the color of tree roots coated in a light film of algae, the tree, silt and rock becoming indistinguishable from each other. It’s as if the table is an extension of the stream, solidifying the theme of the house as being cradled by this place you’ve come to, a gallant house perched along your own personal patch of river. A statement of supreme attention was paid to the lighting of the converted barn. The tapering roof and sandy almond tones give any event a warmth that goes beyond mere entertaining. This is a place of joy, with a strong stone hearth, the sunlight pouring through it like fine linen when its drying on a line. It’s suffused with warmth and enamored with nostalgia via its neo-rustic design melding a link between past and present pioneers. I used to do copy writing. I love this....but in reality I want 200 acres instead of 2000, a creek instead of a river, 4000sqft instead of 17,000sqft.....and $3 million instead of $30 million. Then that's my realistic dream home goal.
