As they say, "knock me down with a feather". I'm a dumb bugger and didn't see that coming. I figured that beast of a van was so well set up that you would have sold Teagan and the kids before parting with it 😂😂 Knowing you, I'm sure there's more surprises around the corner mate. Best wishes to you all for your future adventures 🎉
🤣 haha. Yeah, it wasn't really the plan when we first bought this but the justification to keep this with its price tag was a little too much. Although I'm sure Teagan and the kids would have brought in more funds 🤣 I know I'm on a good thing there 😉 Here's hoping some of the adventures we get up to this year can keep the channel going 👍
That's a very fair reason for selling. Lot of funds tied up in a specific use asset. I was worried something major had gone wrong with it! Only 4 months until ours arrives, so we wait patiently. Whoever bought it got a well sorted setup I reckon.
For sure, it is certainly a lot of money! Don't worry, nothing went wrong, still incredibly impressed with how well this thing performed over our travels! Not too long now! 🤞
Well I did expect it. I even mentioned it in a previous post. A similar van was for sale on Market Place. Makes sense. My style of touring is to have a well kited out car with a tent for remote trips and pay for a motel or cabin closer to town. Keeps the capital cost down and plenty of flexibility…..I do like the UEV490 however!
Thanks for all your effort with your videos on the R4. Has been super helpful to us as we decide on our camping purchase. You've possibly mentioned this, so my apologies if I've missed it but curious your thoughts on tandem vs single axle on these units? Many thanks, Steph & Chris
I’m a bit behind with all my RU-vid etc. But geez you guys went through alot of dust. I’ll search through the vids but what airbox did you have on the lap.
Thanks so much for all of your content. We are awaiting our Lifestyle Reconn R2SE and will be heading off for full time travel middle of next year. I hope we can do half the job you did to showcase the camper as there just isn’t much out there on them. Can’t wait for your next adventure.
Thanks mate, I'm glad the content could keep you guys entertained until yours arrived... I know that feeling of waiting... and waiting... but it's worth it in the end! If you guys are planning on heading to the west at some point, keep in contact, would be great to meet 👍
@@XploringOz yeah I am getting very impatient and Leisa said just today I am the most impatient man on earth 😂 We will definitely be heading to the west as I have not been since I was a kid and Leisa has never been. Will definitely reach out for some locals advice and would be great to catch up. Maybe at some secret locals camp spot 😂
@@filthyoffroadadventures Haha, well you are forgiven with the huge wait time from Lifestyle, but I can confirm its worth it 👍 For sure, keep in touch.
Have a good look at a new off road caravan “off-road grit” arguably the best off road van on the market. We have ordered our new van which will be available in October..
Selling makes a lot of sense, must've been tough to see it go. What now? Another more basic/cheaper hybrid or pop-top, or do you think you'll move to a full height van and forgo the off-road options in favour of comfort?
It does make sense, doesn't mean that we miss it but everything has a place and time. At the moment I'm going to enjoy not towing for a while. Got some good trips planned this and next year that we won't be needing trailers for, but saying that you never know what might happen 👍
Thanks for the update. Look forward to a different style of adventure from you and your family. Think you may settle in the middle of swag and van and get a camper trailer down the track?
You're welcome, looking forward to some different adventures without a 3.2t camper as well. Maybe down the track, it always good to see what's available and try different options 👍
We used anything and everything we could find. From social media pages (including Lifestyle forums and Lemon Caravan forums), other customer experiences, caravan shows, private forums, independent reviewers, sponsored reviewers, web forums etc. After researching everything you end up finding that middle ground and taking it all into context to find an overall 'feel' and user experience with the trailer 👍 The door was never really an issue. I know the R2 door is definitely shorter, but I'm 6" and didn't find it a problem 👍
We had a fair idea of what we were doing. Even if we were 100% certain on sale at the end, we didn't have to invest very much into the trailer aftermarket and it held value very, very well given the current lead times. It worked out perfectly 👍
