Guys, I had an original soldano astroverb amp (also with pics of circuit boar)and and let me tell you they are worlds apart! the original was absolute top shelf workmanship and parts and best of all had the greatest tube driven reverb you'll ever hear. I would beinterested to hear one of these but they seem worlds apart.
Question: In a live gig at a medium-size pub with a loud drummer and NO mic on my speakers, could this Soldano Astro-20 watts keep up with a loud drummer in terms of volume? Next question: how does this Soldano Astro 20-watts compare to the EVH 5150iii 50-watts in terms of tone & volume?
Thanks for the video. Do you know if the IR output incorporates the power tubes? Is it like a reactive load box built in or is it just the preamp signal going to the IR?
you are way too generous for sharing these gut shots! thank you! question: i have a 2001 SLO with full mods -> do you prefer the Astro20 over your SLO mk2?
Pleasure. I prefer to have a couple of amps honestly 😁 For home use, recording and such the Astro, you do not need any external equipment to record. The SLO 100 is a live monster which I would‘t replace. Combined with a nice clean amp like a Fender or not driven Plexi this is rock heaven. If I had to make the choice between the SLO30 ( which I also own, it is in our secondary home) and Astro, I‘d take the Astro.
