Soldano Astro 20 (over backing and some "dry" tones) - no talking 

it sounds great,so far it's the first amp that sounds good in every demo video i've seen this week

so clean and precise... blooms and chimes like a great clean amp should! excellent phrasing sir 😎😎

I grew up in the sixties and that's when I started playing guitar and the traditional sound was a blackface Fender with some kind of overdrive pedal. At first I didn't really like the more modern "high gain" sound but here you're using it in a more melodic way and I have to say I really like it. Don't get me wrong I love Van Halen's sound but it always seemed a bit over the top. Here you can hear more subtle tones. And I love the Soldano sound.

Question: In a live gig at a medium-size pub with a loud drummer and NO mic on my speakers, could this Soldano Astro-20 watts keep up with a loud drummer in terms of volume? Next question: how does this Soldano Astro 20-watts compare to the EVH 5150iii 50-watts in terms of tone & volume?

Sounds great, but I feel like if I use this mostly direct its sort of a waste since I'm not ever going to be using the poweramp. Do regular preamp tubes make a difference compared to say the IRX of yours?

Der Astro20 ist seit langem ein Amp der mich vielleicht wieder schwach werden lässt. Ich habe schon lange kein Verlangen gespürt mir einen neuen Amp zu kaufen. Der könnte das ändern. Bin gespannt wann der mal im Laden ist um ihn zu testen. Die ganzen RU-vid Videos klingen schon mal gut.
