If you have a Seagate or any hard drive that is not mechanically defective, but it will not detect in an operating system, then this process may be your solution. Swap the controller card from a donor patient. Swap the original firmware Winbond or other IC from the drive you need the data recovered from on to the donor board. Install the donor board on the target drive. You should be able to get access to the MFT and data set now.
