Splices, seals, glues and solders wires all in one shot! Make dependable wire splices with nothing but a candle.
Use eye protection!
Improper heating can cause solder to burst and escape the tubing. Keep Solder Splicers out of direct flame.

This was a very thorough video. Thanks for posting.

Now, that is just too cool. I've always used solder and a soldering iron to join wires, but by George, I'm going to give this a try. Thanks for a nice video.

Great video. It's good for those who don't have the right tools handy in an emergency situation. One little hint I could offer though. Why not start the operation by melting the solder first, then do the outside seals. By sealing the ends first, a little bit of over-zealous heating on the solder could possibly cause gas build-up inside the sealed tube, thus causing a 'gusher' if the tube forms a leak.

Very nice demonstration! I just saw these connectors and am going to try them out on some automotive wiring.

I'm sorry dude, been doing this a while, and your whole method is wrong. You should pull the connector to one side, intertwine the wires from one to the other, then slide the sleeve back over both wires. The rest works, but damn man, get some tools. Good video production.

It's not wrong, you dont have to intertwine the wires they're soldered together they're not going anywhere lol

you can probably test the cooling by dunking it in water and testing it for bubbles

Very nice, but how can we maintain the cable diameter in the splicing area? Is it possible to maintain the diameter, if yes, immediately I want to purchase the product for Embided steel wire FRP rod

You should show the best way first, using that heat gun and then the less desirable direct flame methods. Heat guns are cheap at harbor freight and elsewhere.

Yes, that would be nice but that is also easy and should not need instruction. Anyway, this little project went nowhere. The intent was for people to be able to use these splicers at a low cost without having to invest money in tools they don't have any other use for. The idea was if someone broke their speaker wire when repairing their phone they could fix it with this, without needing a soldering iron or other tools.

Buy a heat gun. Never use an open flame that is for amateurs.

Lol I been using a pocket torch for years for all heat shrink you just dont put it directly in the flame and hold it there, theres a technique to using a torch but once you get it its twice as fast and just as good

This aint fuckin England mate. This the Internet and America will invade your country if you try to stake claim to the Internet. Ever heard of manifest destiny? Let me give you a history lesson. God said everything from the shores of Virginia west to the edge of the Milky Way is America's for the taking and that includes this here Internets. Keep your silly monopoly money out of here too. We only trade for oil with the greenback, the way God intended. You can ask Colonel Gaddafi if he'd ever use any other currency and I'd bet you he'd say if it meant he didn't get bayoneted up the booty hole again.

Whoa, this verbose video could have been 3 minutes long,. Less is more! Going through the colors and telling us what wiring to use them for? How about "pick the size that fits your wire"? Period. Toenail clippers? Sure, they can work to strip wire insulation, and so can a box cutter or knife, but geez, how much can wire strippers cost? At 07:13..."...the heat goes up"? Priceless. Will file this in the 'hack' file.

This video was made for customers who wanted to repair one or two broken wires without investing in special tools. Is it a great video? No.... But the footage ended up being used in countless video advertisements for these connectors. Sorry it ruined your day.

@@p1repair Point taken, but not sure if buying one of many $5 (or less) wire strippers on Amazon is an "investment", and even $3 at Harbor Freight won't break the bank. A small splice kit is about ten bucks, if someone spends THAT much to repair 'one or two broken wires', they should at least be informed on how inexpensive it is to 'do it right'. Maybe not buy a heat gun just for this purpose, a stick lighter plenty good, as you illustrated. Video still too long and wordy. Peace.

Soldering is so easy. Just learn how to do it and forget about these gimmicks. I solder 30 pieces of wire while you wasted your time with that little gimmick.
@elguapo5467

Soldering is easy, can solder and use heat shrink when water resistance isn't required, or use electrical tape if you're a hack, but outdoors the benefit over your soldering is the waterproofing these connectors provide.
