I like your work. I do things just a little different. I have the joint of the bangle extend off the block. Then take the block to the edge of the bench. I heat from the under side of the joint and pull the solder through. Just a different idea.
Thanks Sandra....we really appreciate the feedbacks. Clarity sure is important! oh and, if you wanna learn more, make sure to subscribe goo.gl/3ErJzq ...that is if you haven't already :)
If you textured the round wire bangle *before* cutting and soldering it, would it flatten too much? Or is there some other reason you didn't recommend texturing, *then* measuring?
+jaykay415 depending on how much you texture it, it will not flatten too much, it will still remain strong. When you texture, it will "grow" the metal so if you texture after you measure, you will have lost your initial measurement.
A flush cutter would do the job well. Sometimes though, even though it says "flush" some cutters still lead a little pinch, so filing it flat is still needed.
+Toni Earnest Hi Toni! Yes, the copper will change colors. If you would like to use a sealer, we recommend Renaissance Wax. You can find it here: www.beaducation.com/zen_products/2069-renaissance-wax-2-ounces

it all depends on how much pickle solution is in the bath, how hot it is and how much oxides you need to remove. Typically, about 5 minutes will do it. Check your piece and pull it out when it's pretty whitish and has not more oxides or fire scale. Hop this helps :)
Hi Georgie! You will need to seal the copper. We offer a few different products that work great. I've included the links below. Jewelry Shield: www.beaducation.com/p/1526-jewelry-making-tools-jewelry-shield Renaissance Wax: www.beaducation.com/p/2069-jewelry-making-tools-renaissance-wax-2-ounces Glaze Metal Sealer: www.beaducation.com/p/3421-enamel-mixed-media-glaze-metal-sealer-2-ounces
Ya know, it depends on the person and PH balance of their skin. Copper doesn't turn my skin green but if one of my friends wears it, she will be great in minutes. You can also seal the copper with a metal spray on sealant like Krylon.
