Jenn B my son had contacted his younger brothers principal/school. It was their idea to let him hand him his diploma. We come from a very small town and everyone knows each other. It was a wonderful surprise. Thank you for your service! Always a surprise when our loved ones come home! I knew for a month and had to keep it a secret and I enjoyed it just as much as if I hadn't known.

Jacki Kruse that's so cool I'm glad your son got to surprise his little brother. My sister's and I are really close. The way I surprised my little sister at her graduation was I held a balloon low enough to where I could cover my face. She was taking pictures with her boyfriend and I just slid in next to her and asked "can I slid in on this picture" my mama got a picture of my little sister crying. Coming home to family to surprise them is the best feeling anyone can have.

+Michael N - Really?? 99.7 percent of the countries are free?? Let's start with the Middle East. Do you think most Muslim countries are free?? No...they are not! The gov't tells you what you can watch on tv, what music you can and cannot listen too, etc!! In most M.E. countries, women can't vote, drive, or enjoy many of the freedoms men do!! How about North Korea, China, Russia, etc. Do you think they are free...like us in the States??? Wrong again!! As the saying goes...freedom is NOT free, it never was!! It was paid for by the blood, sweat, and tears of the U.S. Armed Forces, and that freedom is STILL paid for by every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, Marine, and Coast Guardsmen! If that wasn't enough, the military constantly help their communities and other countries by providing humanitarian assistance, during natural disasters!! I can go on and on with my lecture on this subject...but I hope that you "get the picture!" If not...write back, and I'll give you more examples of what it means to serve your country! BTW...I served, and proudly did so! HOOAH!

As their mother I’m happy you enjoyed the video. It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 1/2 years ago now. Their bond is just as strong and just as close. Our oldest is on his first deployment currently so it’s been rough for us as a family. Can’t wait to greet him back to US soil next year

With that great an age difference, there is no sibling rivalry. When brothers are closer together in age, there can be a lot of very bitter rivalry (not always of course) and emotions are harder to display.

Jacki Kruse WoW. My little asked if he could do the same. I am an only child so I don't know how to comfort him other than telling him that he's only a few hours away and that he can call him when he likes. But he tells me that it's not the same. wheeew! Smiles. Happy and sad at the same time.

J Gamble FaceTime sessions or skype sessions will really help. The first week was torturous.... he cried every night at bedtime. Just love on him often.
