As others have said, everyone was kind of annoyed when this was announced because of how obvious the winner is. But the reason why it works so well as a stomp match up is because everyone wanted to see Homelander get his shit kicked in. Both the Invincible AND The Boys Twitter accounts were both rooting against Homelander when this episode was announced. And I’ve mentioned this before, but Omniman will be returning soon to Death Battle fighting against Bardock from Dragonball. I’m sure this will push Nolan a lot harder than Homelander can. And the soundtrack for this fight is called “Invincible Diabolical Me” by Brandon Yates if you want to give it a listen.
The funny thing is, Omni-Man was already decent-mannered compared to his fellow Viltrumites. And as a kind of mole for the Viltrumite Empire, he's pretty patient - allowing Homelander to cook before _furiously_ punishing him.
Making him think he had a chance and just brutally crushing his jaw in the middle of his laser attack. He honestly could've ended it faster, but he tanked all of homelanders attacks and ended him in an instant

Scooby vs Courage, Bill vs Discord, and Saitama vs Popeye are masterpieces for the effort they put into them, and creating an episode that makes no sense but makes sense.
It's funny. The 2 unique abilities of homelander are hard counters to Omniman... but he's so much weaker they don't even matter. It's like using a single car's fire extinguisher against a forest fire.
I don't know if this was mentioned or not, since this particular battle I prefer to shy away from, but the official Twitch accounts for both series were actively rooting for Omni-Man to win this one.
First time I saw this and said some stuff..... Homelander fans were like.....we don't know this man....we have not seen the full seasons and stuff.....also Homelander could grow stronger we never know.....but we all know bullies are never stronger than warriors
Fun fact: If Homelanders lasers can harm himself, that means that they’re hotter than a nuclear bomb. Nuclear bombs explode hotter than any star. A stars best can damage Omniman. Obviously it’s faulty but deathbattle overlooked it. This one was fun

The key point to me is extended time in the star. It's not just a single blast but many minutes in the heat. Nolan could just dodge him and the beam like in the battle before it did permenant damage.
The people that says Superman wins always 7:47 against Omni man always is wrong. The viltramites kill all people of krypton without a yellow sun .the end. Deep space and without yellow stars omniman and his species wins over and over. A fully charged kryptoniam could lay waste to omniman… maybe mark would be seeking this via his dad’s book..
