Yup, we need more gesture drawing videos :) P.S. The video is only in 720p, hopefully the next one can be in HD quality.

720p is 'high definition' to be honest, the video isn't visually complex so 1080p wouldn't make that much of a difference.

What I really find difficult to do is to u Put the right muscle into the right place when twisting or training or in general in gesture. Lately I'm improving massively but the last part with the maniquin could help me a lot
@ModernDayJames
@ModernDayJames 3 года назад
Im pretty much never thinking about muscles when I'm drawing, only the mannequin structure. The shapes of the structure are influenced by all the underlying anatomy, but once you learn that then these shapes are way easier to understand. Either that or imitate the shapes you see great artists use

6:30 the box might be a little too exagerated? Hard to imagine how the spine would connect on this one
@ModernDayJames

the boxes are really just a metaphor anyway so that you get the sense of how the forms are rotating. But you should try hyper exaggerating and “break” your characters

Ngl bro your animations feel rigid. Be sure to add arcs and more easing instead of just making them instantly move from 1 position unless it's an exaggerated move like a punch or a kick. Also, work more on your timing on spacing.

Its not that it's rigid. I get what your saying but id like to say that has like a snap things going. It has a realistic type of feel almost. You can see the weight behind the movements. Not the usual style people go for in animation but it has its place. If any of that made sense, hard to describe
