What a great collection . How are you cleaning the necklace? I soak my gold in warm water and dawn dish soap. It comes out looking new.

Thank you! Same. Warm water and a little dish soap. For my rope necklace I will let it soak for 10 - 15 minutes to loosen up dirt and oils.

@ebonyclay I once cleaned a friend's diamond ring that hadn't been taken off in a year. I used very warm, almost hot water and put in a small plop of ammonia. Let it soak overnight, and she couldn't believe the difference

@@ginkat1318 Yes! Ammonia breaks up the oils, grease, silicone and other products. Dawn dish soap can work too. Depending on the composition of the gold / metal ammonia can react with other alloys.
