Steve, thanks for having Caleb on. Caleb, thanks for sharing your approach. You clearly explained what looks to be most robust master model process I've yet seen for SolidWorks...and I'm closer to retirement than to the start of my career! I'm going to retrofit it _immediately_ to some models which have been causing me occasional problems for the past couple of months. I have absolutely no doubt that it'll be worth the short-term pain, no matter how many broken references I have to fix over the next day or so.

FANTASTIC VIDEO. Best summary I have ever seen on solidworks master modeling. Thanks you so much for sharing this. This is how my company does master modeling so nice to see this detailed summary. Although waiting to add clearances is an interesting choice. Using the move face command on the individual parts and specifying the clearances individually, you would need to be careful. Because you could double the clearance because they’re controlled separately for example.

Great topic and solid advice throughout - really enjoyed it.

Curious about the pins being inserted as a secondary op instead of molded in. Chasing those around during assembly has to be hard but justified for their added strength.

I want to use this technique with sheetmetal, but it seems like when I use this technique, I cannot get the flat pattern when doing the 2D drawing.

Интересная информация для моего продвижения по освоению solidworks, но мне пока до Калеба Вайника который делится своим опытом видео очень далеко. Спасибо !
