SOLIDWORKS PDM offers a visual workflow editor that is highly customizable and easy to use. Chris Sowter takes us through a method to extend that visual workflow reference to your data card for on-demand workflow documentation available to end-users.
The process follows a few main steps:
1) Create images to explain each workflow state
2) Make those images available to users
3) Create a variable that is set inside the workflow transitions
4) Add images to the data cards and use control logic to manage visibility of the appropriate image
