It could mean there is some other void inside the part, usually an unintentional one One way to check is to model a large block extrude around your part as a separate body, and then do a Combine -> Subtract operation If this results in multiple bodies (especially tiny slivers or floating regions) these will indicate where the internal cavity is. Then you can go and correct the part geometry. Either that or perhaps the interface between the insert and cavity is not clean and may contain interferences, you could use Evaluate -> Interference Detection as well

Unfortunately we aren't aware of any SOLIDWORKS-integrated analysis package specialized for sand casting. SOLIDWORKS Plastics can be used for metal injection molding (MIM), and we've even heard some customers approximating high-pressure processes like die casting using SOLIDWORKS Plastics and a custom material (though this is officially unsupported). But for low pressure process like sand casting it would definitely not be a good fit. If you search for "sand casting simulation" you will find some specialized 3rd party simulation tools exist.
