I restored an old scissors made of gorgeous Solingen steel.
As you know I like time marks on old hand tools, therefore I left some of them.
I considered the functionality of the scissors when making this restoration. The internal geometry of the scissors is very important.
At the end I made it as sharp as a razor and as bright as a mirror. Also this friend has a silky touch now.
I hope you enjoy watching and have a good time.

Guys! The work is beautiful, but cutting hard paper is unworthy of tailor's scissors, blunt scissors will also cut it, and a polished handle will turn black very quickly without painting!

Beautiful restoration. I remember my mother had dress making scissors very similar to those in the late 50’s. She made me many dresses using those scissors. Now you just have to restore all the others in the drawer, we can’t have “ugly sisters”! Then you must make a beautifully lined drawer or case to keep them in!🤗

I do respect your decision to abstain from animal and marine life consumption, one thing for sure, it has not hampered the quality of your work young man. I am from Solingen and my Grandfather was one of the last few reider he learned this skills during the "Glorious" Times of Solingen. Sadly he passed away, before I am old enough to get teached in this Skills. Beautifull to see People share there love to good scissors and knives.

Прекрасная реставрация, все отлично снято, обожаю Ваши видео, Ваши подход к работе, но винт на ножницах надо ставить с другой стороны, вставляется в отверстие, выкручиваться в лезвие с резьбой и контрится гайкой, это чтобы они не раскручивать.

i know nothing about scissors, but this one ended looking amazing. specially in your workshop, that i can totally picture located in La Manzana de las Luces, or in any ather old convent in San Telmo or Monserrat, in Buenos Aires. the only thing missing to make it look as an authentic taller porteño would be, instead of coffee, an old steaming kettle and a faithfull mate, accompanying all the process. milonga and spirit are already there. and no, i'm not talking about the grape flavoured chivas.

I actually have a pair of scissors that are at least 60-70 years old if not older, and they have been taken care of so they look as perfect as the day the left the shop. Minus some scratches and normal wear marks of course. I need to sharpen them. But I bought a bunch of scissors a few years ago trying to find the best to cut ballistic rated Kevlar fabric. Eventually I found a pair of spring loaded micro serrated on one side, razor sharp on the other, and they cut anything and everything like its butter and they are red hot. I don’t think I’ll ever need another pair of scissors ever again.

Yep, I do it every time, but on the smaller scale - start one thing, then branch out to fix something to be able to continue the first task, 😆. To be honest, my heart sank when the old screw broke. But the polishing is just so bright, so precise! Also, I appreciate the sand off of the old seams on the handle, they must be so much more comfortable now!

Wonderful “mini-movie”, sir! You’re not just showing a restoration- the before, this is how or what was done, and now look at it. You’re about the process. It isn’t the destination but the journey. I’ve been curious about all the short videos you posted and kinda wondering what the heck you were doing. Now it makes sense. Anyways, lot could be said about how very meticulous and purposeful you seem to be, but, without meaning to creepy, I genuinely enjoyed watching this project.

Работа хорошая, кропотливая. Результат достойный. Латунный болт Вы поставили наоборот. Должно быть так болт, шайба, лезвие без резьбы, потом болт вкручивается в лезвие с резьбой и затем контрится гайкой.

Carissimo amico ti seguo sempre e ti ammiro per la tua costante precisione ma in questo restauro avrei preferito tu mettessi una vite con testa a taglio e non un dado a cappella finale ma un semplice dado in ottone ...per il resto é un ottimo restauro. Buon Lavoro
