thats an actual auditory hallucination that frequently happen if you apply vaguely same-toned notes to the sound of someone saying something as long as you know what the person is saying. in a lot of cases, your brain will put what it knows they are supposed to be saying to that sound of their voice adjusting, giving the subtle affect of you hearing them saying what they say in the show. if someone didnt know what the heck this bit was, or perhaps even if you werent told that this was solitude in e-minor, it would basically sound like noise. its very fascinating, and you can see it in a lot of cases where songs with lyrics were put into midi files, like, say, all star by smash mouth

Most clarinets are tuned to Bb apparently. I'm not a clarinet player, but I am a saxophonist, so if he were playing E minor, he'd actually be playing D minor in concert pitch.
