Hi thanks for taking the time. Met a couple of great guys on the ferry from the UK to Spain who were heading to Morocco, they sent me a WhatsApp with the GPX files. I owe them a lot, without doubt they made the trip and I literally chose a route and followed the red line. Phone has a 512K micro SD card too so saved the GPX files to that, not sure if I did that over WiFi or 4G. Either way Morocco has great mobile coverage. Bought a local 10Gb SIM on the way out of the port at Tangier Med (there are Kiosks just past the police checks) along with insurance for the bike and used the ATM to grab some cash from my Revolut card

Ahh nice .... Merzouga comes up in a few episodes ... had a great time in the desert ....scenery was equally spectacular just with a different flavour of course. Phone was great although i got it stolen in Bilbao on the last eve - my fault, I should've known better. I bought another as soon as I got home. Its the S61Pro, with Dual SIM + Micro SD slots, big battery, It's IP68 rated Water-resistant and shock proof. Just wanted something cheap that I could quadlock mount to the bike without a cover and run OSM ( Open street maps)....👍

Ahh so much choice. Guess it depends how much time you want to take getting South. If you're heading into Santander then you're duty bound to go via the Picos. If it's a quick dash South then I go via Burgos, Valladolid, Salamanca, Caceres, Seville. If you have time then a more scenic route may be Burgos, Avilla, Cuevas del Valle, Guadalupe, Galizuela, Cazalla de la Sierra, Ronda. Enjoy!

Hi, I use OsmAnd on android ( guess they have an IOS equivalent too). Proved great although Morocco is tricky when it comes to mapping as a lot of the roads/trails are not mapped and certainly not by any one application. That said just finding the route is reward enough and adds to the whole experience ... the desert episode coming up later in the series shows exactly that
