I've been a builder for 50 years, on two continents. You humble me with your dedication, spirit, and sheer grit. I'd say you're an animal when it comes to strength and perseverance, but as the video progressed, it became clear you're more a raptor, with divinity evident at your core. Keep flying high, confident in your abilities...and your rapidly accumulating experience.
Aww wow this is so a lovely comment to wake up to! Thank you so much for your kind words and support, it’s been such a challenge but I’ve enjoyed every single second 🙏
Ive never seen any bloke even come close to what you have done , specially by yourself at a professional level , will look amazing when you are finished
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. That's what you are Jasmine. The sheer strength and determination you have should be admired by everybody watching you. I've told you before. As a female watching you. I find myself getting abit emotional because I'm so so proud of you. I don't know you. But, you're an amazing woman. Cannot wait for the end. The day you open your front door of your completed home is the day all of Australia and beyond will be cheering you on even more than we all are now. Go Jas!!!! 🎊
Wow , this message has got me emotional! Thank you so much for the overwhelming support, it honestly means so much to me, it hasn’t been an easy journey but messages like this and seeing what I’ve accomplished definitely makes it worthwhile 🥰🙏
You, Girl are an inspiration. I hope many thousands of people subscribe to your channel. I know how scary and hard this is but you just keep smiling. More power to your elbow.
Wow thank you so much! It’s definitely been confronting sharing everything but it’s always been very rewarding hearing some beautiful stories of people starting their own projects so I’m so glad I have chosen to share the journey and I hope you continue to enjoy it ☺️
A motivated, energetic, smart, substantive woman, who looks like a swimsuit model, doing construction, operating heavy equipment and completing incredibly interesting projects?!? I think I have just found my new favorite youtube channel! I absolutely love your positive energy and enthusiasm. Congratulations on how far you've come! Wishing you the best on your journey and appreciate the opportunity to follow along. 100k subscribers are just around the corner for you Jasmine.
Wow honestly thank you so much for such a lovely comment to wake up too! I really appreciate your kind words and you being here for the journey! I’ll do my best to share it all ☺️🙏
i have built factories, with many many hired hands and compaines and workers to do the work, but doing this, one girl, alone. is magic. i do not even dream about doing such a thing alone.
This is an epic build. I'm 54 years old and have built dozens of structures and 200 pounds. I'm exhausted by what you must have gone through to make this happen. You've totally nailed it. Looking forward to more of your progress. Keep on keeping on!
Wow what a compliment thank you so very much! And I take my hat off to you for your job it’s bloody hard! But the end result is definitely worth it ☺️🙏
I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said, very impressive and with a smile! I designed and built my own home 3 years ago, took me almost 3 years start to finish. Keep up the hard work, it will be worth it. You're one in a million!
I’m loving this. You kicking arse on this process. I almost wish I found it in a year so I could binge watch it all in one go 😂. Side not for anyone els pouring with the anchor bolts already installed , wrap the exposed threads above the concreet line in electrical tape before pouring. It helps keep the threads from getting concrete all over them and having to wire brush them clean later.
Aww wow this is actually so lovely thank you so much for your support! I will do my best for updates , would you like updates on community posts here? Also I’m doing the pour for my shed pad this week and containers are arriving next week ☺️🙏
You are incredible. A true superwoman. My mind is blown by your intelligence, your fitness your perseverance and all the rest. What a legend. I’m here for the ride! Thank you for sharing you!
Jasmine…I’m an old man…nothing to say other than I hope you actually did all of this . I’m a carpenter and have been all my life and I love seeming people doing projects like this. Makes me so happy..good on ya hun..
Fantastic job, Jasmine! Grace under pressure is a wonderful thing as you have demonstrated multiple times! Suprisingly enough, sometimes beautiful distractions bring us back to the center and realize that we can only do so much and sometimes must succumb to the outside forces around us! Such a beacon of determination and drive! Keep building your wonderful dreams!!! Blessings to you and your continuing journey!
Wow what a beautiful message to read thank you so much I really appreciate it, I put a lot of faith in the universe that things will always fall into place how they are meant to even if I don’t quite understand why when it’s happening , always trust the process ☺️🙏
Congrats on getting the foundations done. Incredible and very very hard work for one lady ... You def should be very proud ... Puts alot of us men to shame ... Keep it up and work safe 👍
Aww thank you so much for noticing, I honestly value this community so much and just want to put my all into it , I had a lovely day with Mumma thank you! I hope you had a lovely day too 💛✨
Wow! Just came across your channel - it’s been my dream to build my own home for over 20 years. I am blown away by your drive and enthusiasm (as well as your grit & determination). Love it
3-4-5!!!!! Algebra for the win!!! Electric breaker hammer (jack hammer) with clay spade , YES! I suffered digging bar hell for 10 years, my hands got so calloused my GF complained...alternatives became critical 🥰
Kudos to you for going the distance and correcting the imperfections. Too many people cut corners in the begining and pay for it throughout the process. Mother Nature is cruel and unfair and that's coming from someone in Southern Louisiana, USA. Flooding, rain, and hurricanes are all too common, but the freedom, fishing, and bayous are worth it all.
Thank you so much I worked my bum off to make sure it was spot on so I appreciate it! And I use to live somewhere with similar weather problems so I agree its definitely worth it for the freedom 🙌
@@Building.a.Dream-Barefoot_JasI've had a grinder wheel pinched as the metal was under pressure when cut, it grabbed the spinning blade and it kicked back, smacking me right between the eyes with the gearbox of the grinder and broke my glasses. Please use the big visor type full face shield, or many welding helmets work too if they have a flip up filter.
i built an art studio out of 2 containers side by side for my my mum,, what I did for foundations was somewhat simpler,, but worked perfectly for that application,, i dug holes to take steel drums ,, and you can get steel drums that have lids and dont need to be cut,, i leveled the drums into the holes and filled them with water and left them for 2 months to let them settle,, then I emptied the water out and relevelled the drums and filled the drums with concrete rubble and filled them with concrete mix ,, when they set i placed the containers on and built the studio,, solid as,,
Omg I am exhausted just watching what I thought was a recap at the start of the video. By god you have worked hard on this part of the build fair play to you. I just found your channel but definitely after this I am watching because I can relate. I spend my time working in the garden and then have the house and kids aswell and when I complain about being wrecked I actually don't think my husband believes me as to why I am so tired. I think I need to show him your vlogs.
Wow that’s amazing you sound like you do so much! And yes great idea 😂 I use to be a teacher and I know how fast a day can disappear in the presence of amazing children ☺️🙏 thank you for your kind words 🙏
@@Building.a.Dream-Barefoot_Jas I never even mentioned my full time job no wonder I am wrecked all the time!! You are so sweet, I hope you do well on YT, which I think you will. I watch a lot of videos about renovations, new builds and a lot of container homesteading so I can see your vision/dream. I must say by golly you are doing it rough & hard please don't burn yourself out before we get to see your dream. Always remember the great words work smarter not harder!!
Well done and you should be proud of yourself , what you have done with your very limited experience is amazing. Dont think people fully understand just how much you have accomplished and working out and correcting problems on the fly. Hats off to you. Snapz UK
This is unreal, love the way you just get stuck in. No nonsense approach and back yourself. Awesome ability to think outside the square as well. Well done young lady👍👍👍
How you manage to keep your cool and positive outlook through all those moments I am in awe! Well done you smashed it with the best can do attitude I’ve seen…
Aw thank you so much I really appreciate it! At this point I just expect At-least one thing to go wrong everyday so it’s not such a shock when it happens 😂
Wow!!! Congratulations you should be extremely proud of your self for building your own house off the grid to your budget. I know what it takes to work long days by yourself as our properties and goals & work ethic parallel each other. Jist like you learning to use equipment, tools , welder & lasers is difficult at first but with homework practice & youtube becomes easier. I struggle with the arthritis aches in the fingers & body cramps doing back to back long days. Im so impressed with you tenacity & drive that I,m going to do my footings as well. Water & rain set back my fencing and my soil is the opposite to yours, chocolate soil, sandy soils & little clay so foundations for sheds tend to move alot. I'm looking forward to your next video & so good to see a fellow Australian ( and not another Yanky) documenting their OTG build. Keep up the good work . God bless you .
Thank you so much for reaching out with this message not only do I appreciate the kind words I appreciate you sharing your story, and it’s very motivating to hear, experience is priceless! And goodluck with your footings they sound like a pain but I’m sure they will be great !!
Great work, well done. I've been a chippy for the last fourty years in Australia. Mainly worked on places alone like this. Harder than most think. Having an extra pair of hands doesn't have the time taken, it often makes it three times as easy.
Uhhohhh. I saw that... 7:50 ... Editing skills, combined with clever planning of the b-roll... someone is picking up on that whole "making content" thing... WELL DONE ! What an AMAZING progress and what an exiting journey your on ! Can't wait for more !
Top Job ! I've been restumping for weeks now. Funny how you learn all the tricks after doing things the hard way. Well done mate' can't wait to see more.
You said i’m so proud, and you can ! You are exemplary, incredible 😮😅😊 it’ super hard to do something in three dimensions, so large so accurate and most important alone. Waouhhhh
Jasmine... 😊 You are resilient... Mother Nature 1, Jasmine 2, winner: Jasmine, trophy for bucketing the rain water out... My mind is short circuiting, how a girl gets all this done by herself... You should become famous... Being so positive, hard working, go getter, full of energy, purpose driven... WOW... Go Jasmine! 🎉
Amazing! That you would take all of this on with no experience is highly unusual and shows what you're made of and that you are resourceful and clever. You accomplished what a crew of usually 4 people would do by yourself and learning on the fly! Such determiation is fantastic!
Your amazing love the way you just have a go an nothing beats you can't wait to see container home I just no already it's going to be fantastic keep up the good work your doing great
I’m building a off grid house also ,I’ve finally got out of the dirt ,mine was pipe clay and hand dug ,which was weeks n I was over it , Your doing well ❤
I couldn’t imagine how daunting of a task that all would have been and you have done a sensational job! Can not wait to follow the whole build! You have inspired me to go and build my own dream!!! Legend!
Wow!! Just come across this video. To say am impressed is a understatement. What you have done here and on your own is unbelievable. 😊 you have my sub and am in ore of you. A true life Superwoman. Just amazing 😮
Absolutely awesome I am so happy and if I would say with all respect proud of you. You are a true example of woman and true, feminine power. Keep it up we are all behind you rooting you on.
Do you have anybody to help you visualize your house? I can help you with that. I would love to help you I can put together a 3-D model of what it is that your house was altimeter look like.
Keep up the great work. My wife and I spent 2 years owner building our house down in Victoria. Weekends only though. We have cabinet making / joinery background and we even had those tuff days and wet weather days to push through. To be honest it felt like it rained all the time. So I feel your pain. But like us you will come out the otherside with an awesome result. Keep a smile on your face and enjoy the adventure.
1 thing you needed was a lump hammer not a carpenter hammer to put those stakes in. It would have been a lot quicker and easier for you to. After watching to the end , you really did a great job here.
Bravo! BTW. The footing pad forms were needed because people often over excavate the size of the footing holes. This is because the loose soil usually falls in. However, if you could have shown your exact excavation and the hard clay that kept the excavation from falling in on itself, you probably could have had that requirment waived.
Thank you so much for letting me know that makes sense because most of the year my soil isn’t rock hard because it’s clay so it turns into slush and becomes very loose so I understand why they are on the design , thank you 🙏
Well done, building my own house cost me $65,000. That was digging out a slope and levelling for concrete pad, but yours with footings was reasonable. But you blew me away with your accuracy and attention to detail. Those jack hammers are hard on the body as I know from building my own house and the 40 degree heat that we got here as well. Your true test is to make sure each of your container bolt holes match up. Steel has no give so only 1 or 2 millimetres out is acceptable, hard yards, but you will get there. Fantastic work, well done.
Thank you so much! It’s crazy my foundation quote was almost as much to build your whole house! 😂 thank you so much and the containers are getting welded onto the steel plates and they are all on and lined up I just have to weld them down ☺️🙏
I am truly impressed. Great job so far. That was an insane crazy amount of work. That’s why they wanted so much and you saved yourself a lot of money. I’ll watch the rest.
I watched your video for the first time today. At first I thought she was a spoiled girl with mud on her hands and face. But as the video progressed, I saw that you can handle tasks that even a master cannot do on your own. In some situations, you find very practical, very clever solutions. My first impression suddenly changed and then I fell in love with you. I congratulate you. You are doing a very good job. I'll be following from now on.👏👏👏
