SOLO CAMPING in the UKs MOST HAUNTED WOODS. Bad Idea. 

How do Jay. I can confirm how haunted that area is. As a kid, myself and several mates camped up there near the little fishing lake in our tents. Back then there were stories of the "Picker Pickers" The ghosts of the miners who walked the woods. The mist is real. Its like a movie mist that clings to the floor and the night we camped we heard the noise of horses and voices echoing through the woods. To say we pooped ourselves was putting it mildly and many of us took up 22 air rifles- though what use they'd be against a ghost is anyone's guess lol. Lets just say 40 years later I still remember and never camped up there again. Theres something supernatural up there for sure. The old mine shaft which used to have a cage from round it gave weird noises at night. Theres another story about the mine disaster. My Dad's Uncle Ralfe was the game keeper for Squire Houlton for many years and lived in the lodge near the gates on Newbrook road. but before that he was a seam fireman/saftety officer at gib field pit. when pretoria exploded, its said that they got every body out but Uncle Ralfe told otherwise. The explosion was so extreme that the miners were literally blown to pieces and they would take pieces out and the families would have closed coffins.Anyhow, when Ralfe was at Gib field they were digging a new seam when suddenly it broke into another shaft which was belonging to Pretoria. the miners found 22+ rotted bodies in the old shaft and ralfe reported it to the mine bosses. They instructed him and the miners to seal the shalf and seam and block it off and never speak of it again. The thinking being that every family that lost someone had had their funeral and so it wouldnt to to raise old upsets and cause distress to surviving familes. To this date there are 22+ pretoria miners still in a shaft down there. great video, Buddy and kudos to you for even thinking of camping up there. bessy regs- Kenny

It's built into us for a reason.... If you don't feel safe, LEAVE. Those are the BEST stories, in my opinion. I went camping, didn't feel right in the area, I chose somewhere else, the end. Had a good time, and stayed safe.

You kept saying "I don't know what to do". Here is what you do - move into a thicker more dense area and find a spot to hole up and just duck in. Don't set up anything, just keep watch for an hour or two and see who comes thru, and if there is someone following you they will be looking around for you.

First time I’ve caught your channel, no coincidence.. Check out the Cadder Pit Disaster in Glasgow, 1913. Virtually indentical wooded landscape, same vibe. As for people in the woods? Happens all the time, usually if you leave them alone they’ll leave you alone. However, when you’re hiking or wandering be prepared to be assertive if required. When I enter the woods, I’ll pick up a thick piece of wood, walking stick and great for defensive purposes. Take care out there. ☘️💪

Over the last few years. There are many homeless immigrants . That have made our woodland their home.Usually banding together.whichever nationality they are. They also Poach in our waterways. This isn't me. Calling them for the sake of it. As it's true what I say. Be safe out there.

My first video I've watched of yours Jay. You seem an authentic guy, and not trying to glamorise or exagorate things. I'm mixed feelings, as i objectively didn't observe anything outstanding, and don't trust technology; yet equally do believe in paranormal activity. The mind is super powerful when we're alone and fearful. So things could be perception, especially as you have historical knowledge of the location. I'm not denying your intent, nor how genuine you are; just objectively not overly impressed. I think you were wise to trust your intuition not to camp out with the physical presence of the people there. You are a brave man.

Here in the UK solo camping isn't a good idea, especially in semi urban areas. From things I've seen and read alot of homeless take up in places like this and can become defensive of "their" land. They were making themselves known to you by making the sounds to scare you away.

Man your brave i get spooked easily and used to go festivals when i was younger so was used to the dark fields etc i got more scared as i got older because i seen way too many ghosts /demonic vids etc i know the spirit world is real /Good luck keep safe x

I always thought that the UK's most haunted forest was Cannock Chase? It's well known that many people (from all over the UK) consider it to be so. And there are other notorious forests supposedly extremely haunted: Dering Woods (just next to Pluckley, Kent), Sherwood Forest, New Forest, Dartmoor, Harwood Forest (Northumberland), and of course Epping Forest. I'd never heard of the place in this video. It certainly seens spooky, but is it really scarier/creepier than Cannock Chase or Epping Forest???

reflections deceive? the lake maybe? because the reflections can be seen in the water. and you did say about the white lady. its such a pretty but sad place, im wondering if going back on the date it happened would help? i do agree its not safe alone so pleaseeeee take someone others with you ! and yes now im going to say it lol OMG your nuts for going alone lol your safety is more important to us than a video !

Also, if I would hVe seen that lean-to I would have gone backwards and gone a good halfway back to find a nice place. You seemed to have gone a long way past the old shaft. Don't blame you if you didn't follow through on this one! I think others would agree.😮

Sirens are so close. You aren't too far from safety. Camping in the woods in USA is REALLY in the deep woods. If that's what you're looking for, go somewhere else. So are you looking for comfort, or solitude? In USA we're looking to be AONE.

You should always go with your gut feeling its r survival mode that's is built in us from the beginning n no matter where u r there's always somebody else about ✌

Im 66 my dad knew the last owner of Hulton Hall Sir Geoffrey Hulton, he was in Marines with him. He died in 1993 with no heir so the line finally ran out. . The family basically lost their wealth when coal fell and the disaster didnt help. They had lived there 800 years. Over the years I have ridden my horses round the edge of those woods, but, interestingly they wont go in there...at all. I mean refuse! I dont think its safe in there the living are far more dangerous than the dead. Ive seen odd people on their own in there from a distance on the edge, on horseback.its easy to get away quick....but genuinely be careful. It gets misty because of the density of the foliage and the great deal of water. Midges everywhere! Its also dangerous cos theres unknown shafts that just open up you could fall down. Youre brave id never dream of going in there alone on foot. 😂 i can hear stuff too....footsteps I mean there are people whose bodies were never found...was such a huge explosion. Youre going to Pendle ?! That i have to see. Youre going to everywhere i grew up over the years...im ancient😅. Pendle is one scary place. Once again ridden all round there but again there are places that horses just wont go...just flatly refuse. I now luve down in Kent. Near Pluckley...supposedly most haunted village....the screaming woods....another place horses wont go. Im subscribing cos you arent over the top. Youre genuine. Brilliant video even though youre bonkers going in there alone.😮😮

And when you did the paranormal stuff, you didn't give it your full attention because you were worried about the living.. next time, trust your gut and wait till you have some people with you. Better safe than sorry.
