What a day! It got wild out there when I was fishing offshore by myself. Solo adventuring always requires appropriate safety gear, I make sure to carry the best equipment for my environment. Having the right performance fishing gear allows me to stay out on the water longer while creating lifetime memories and catching fish that I get to share with my family and friends.

Montauk, NY, here. I have a new 2024 FPT. BlueFin Tuna season is upon us. I have some inshore trips under my belt. I have a few videos of some fun inshore stuff on RU-vid. But check out Andrew Hill products from New Zealand. I bought a Rodholder/ Rocket launcher. It mounts super solid behind the seat and keeps rods out of the spray. But I believe is strong enough for heavy strikes while trolling. Next trip may be for a keeper edible Thresher Shark. Otherwise, our inshore is red hot. Your video is fantastic. What a great fishery. !! Dave

Its interesting how fish names can be so different in other countries. Here in Australia, what you call a king fish is a Mackerel for us & a King Fish here is a huge powerful fish related to an Amberjack.

I do fish inshore sometimes, we don't have many grass flats in my location but I do fish mangroves and structure for inshore species.

Yes I do not have the engine running while I am drifting, I do have the key attached which allows the Garmin and livewell to still work. The display screen stays on but the engine is off.

Thankfully I have not, there are options to take an extra fuel caddy if you know its going to be a long trip. I have had my low fuel alert go off but that was while I was inshore. I make sure to have a full tank every time I go offshore.
