Today I'm sharing a solo mom day in the life! I haven't done one of these in forever, but wanted to update you guys on how our days look when I'm the one in charge lol Today we went to a new homeschool playgroup/co-op and met some nice people, I started teaching Annabelle how to read, and Doug and I chat at the end about possibly traveling in an RV for a month. You know what? This is a good thing you are home schooling them. Forget the standardized tests, the bullies, re constituted and re heated lunches, lunch money, mask mandates, the pressure, worrying about the integrity of the teachers. You have a nice house with a perfect learning environment and for what is going on in the country right now and how it is sad that things are not what they used to be. You will teach them well.

love your homeschooling content. I've been homeschooling for 5yrs now. pulled my daughter out of public school before her 4th grade year. she is now in 9th grade and we love it. co-ops are great also for the kids to get together. I've bought all your book recommendations along with the light and car emergency tool lol my hubby was like what is this for

I have watched you for a long time, and I also follow you on Instagram. I had a child, my first and only, at 40. I still do not have the confidence that I should have, despite all that I’ve been through and all that I know. When I watch you, I feel that I gain confidence, knowledge, and an understanding that I should be patient with not just myself, but also with my family. My mom taught me to read before I was 5 using that book. She swears by it and we’re starting to introduce it to my 3-year old now

I was born and raised in Idaho and now live in Utah, so I thought I’d add my two cents since so many Californians are moving here lol. Southern Utah (St. George) is very hot, desert climate, red dirt, etc. with very minimal Mormon culture. Northern Utah is aaaaall Mormons, very pretty mountains, but gets some snow (mostly in the mountains and around the Idaho boarder). Idaho gets more snow, but Boise doesn’t get a ton (has more to do with elevation than north or south).

I’ve been watching you since pre babies, and then your first time mom content was a favorite when I was in college and I can’t express how much I’ve missed you just rambling in your kitchen! I’m finally a stay at home first time mom and love that you’re back to this content😍 it’s like we’re in this together (our sons are 3 months apart) and I truly look up to you now since you’re experienced!

If that reading book doesn’t work out, definitely look into All About Reading. My son started out with Fly Guy too haha and now he’s almost 9 reading historical fiction and non fiction ww2 books. We are doing Christian classical approach and doing ancient history right now so all he is doing in that era is Self taught! It’s been so fun to see how much they grow just through reading and exploring interests. We are joining a CM fine arts co-op this year and it’s definitely getting us out of our comfort zone but excited to do Shakespeare plays haha!!

We have that same sandbox for our boys and they are in it so much. We love it!! Also, I have been homeschooling for 12 years and have taught 3, soon to be all 4, of our kids to read using that book. Works great!!

I love seeing your videos pop up! I did the teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons too and it was great! it was tough at times but I did start super young but she picked it up! I started at 3 and a half and she is 5 too and she reads amazing! it blows me away how she reads difficult words. she is definitely reading at a level 1. now I do the Good and the beautiful and it helps with grammar and just solidifying everything! I'm so excited for you! I actually just started with my 3-year-old (just older than 3 and a half). she loves it, she wants to be like her big sister. another thing that was great was a momma on IG, she has a curriculum that is called PLAYING PRESCHOOL. all the activities are so fun for the kids and hands-on. that it is more of a tactile thing. it feels like playtime instead of school. the only bad thing is there is a lot of prep. but i think picking and choosing activities would still be great.

When I first started homeschooling my son he was 5 too and I didn't use a curriculum either... I've heard good things about "teach your child to read..." hope you all like it ❤

We have 800sq ft house. We have 4 kids. Same ages and genders as yours plus a newborn boy. The house is perfect size: cleaning is easy. All families basically live in one room plus a kitchen.

I did do "Goodnight, bye" yet now have to lay with both bigger kids and snuggle the baby lol They had nightmares so I can't just let them be terrified 🤷
