After a 13 hour drive we finally arrived, luckily i had access to an ATV to explore and fish a really nice river system that ran through the property we were staying on. I was told by the owner there was big murray cod, yellowbelly (golden perch) and catfish through the river.
the temperature out there was around 40 c everyday so having a vehicle was a lifesave. After a tough first day exploring the bends and deeper holes i didn't have much to show for it, so decided to do abit more research and go for an early morning session before we had to start the big drive home.
What an awesome morning it was, getting hit on a spinner bait and landing my first ever yellowbelly. Only to land a bigger one within the next few casts.
It always pretty amazing exploring new place and fishing new terrain. Although i didn't get the big cod that i was after super stoked to land a new species.
