Running the RoN Linear Fusion with Surrounded is actually really smart, I would have never thought of that, and this is probably one of the few encounters where it makes total sense.
i was using this build for my first clear too, it suits this dungeon so well. the sheer number of adds in the 2nd encounter was hilarious, kept my restoration timer at 12 seconds constantly

Ran this build on day 1 with my buddy. I was on add clear during 2nd encounter while we figured out the mechanics. Ended the dungeon with 2.6k kills lol
Lol, the thumbnail was golden. I did it with two friends last night, and one just couldn't remember which rune he picked up, so he always guessed, but somehow got it every time.
on my solo flawless I didn’t look at the symbols for two of the hive guardians I killed. So it was down to a 50/50 guess. I guessed right and got placed 99th!
Gotta say you've quickly become my favorite Destiny channel, to the point I'd watch non-Destiny content cause your work's amazing. Don't take this as a request, but I couldn't help but want some of your commentary on your strategy for this run. Anyway, great stuff as usual, keep it up
curious, what do you use on your trace rifle in this? im trying to get into using them more and i dont really know what makes them good. im levelling up the arc one, attempting to get hollow denial with deepsight resonators, and honestly, i dont get it so far. thing does like no damage, unless voltshot (which im assuming is whats used) makes it extremely good. i dont even know what people use on hollow denial.
So the current trace I used in this video was a bit of a relic from a precious strategy. It was my only shoot to loot trace, which I was using in conjunction with an overflow rocket to do damage, but it didn't end up working out. Voltshot is definitely something I never thought of, and would've been a huge help. Realistically I should've used acasia's for the extra harmonic resonance damage, but didn't really think of it till later. Ultimately traces aren't really something that you really want to add clear with. They're at their best when used as a way to do mechanics (shooting nez crits, etc), since they essentially act as primaries that give you the ability to run double specials so that you can get the improved heavy drop rate. They also have some interesting perks like shoot to loot which helps a lot in niche situations. Personally I mainly run an acasia's with frenzy/recomb, but realistically all I use it for is doing raid mechanics and getting enemies finisher. I'd definitely invest in a shoot to loot/voltshot trace though, since both perks can be super useful in weird scenarios.

@@imagineabuild Huge thanks to you and the other person here for replying, I genuinely did not know what made traces any good. If it contextualizes at all, the only traces I have are Hollow Denial - Heating+Tally Path of Least - ShootLoot+Voltshot Retraced - Subsistence+Frenzy RoN Trace - Keep Away+Harmony Which I don't think are the best rolls, in fact most of those are pretty bad minus Path which is craftable into anything I want. In fairness I've been really enjoying Path of Least because Voltshot allows it to chunk groups of adds while my solar titan/warlock ability does most of the legwork. I'm planning on crafting Hollow Denial using Deepsight Harmonizers and also Ascia's through weekly's... hopefully some of the more curated rolls on those can help, because I - do - notice the heavy ammo increase, I just feel like I run out of ammo because I overuse the trace. I wonder what do people use with traces most commonly in the kinetic other than exotics? Riptide was my most used so far. Just for the utility of it all.
@@snezor2783 i usually just use arby, izi, wither and riptide. Depends on the encounter tho. It hard to get used to not overusing the trace at the start, i just usually grenade spam for ads and if i get unlucky then i start to use the trace
I'm on a plebian PS4 but I'm definitely trying your strats, minus the aggressive frame linear. That would just be extra difficulty in my case, and this dungeon has enough of that lol. But I suppose Cataclysmic with triple surges and well would be the next best thing?
@@jayeff4337 Sunbracers + touch of flame used to make grenades last 8 or 10 seconds. I forgot the number. But currently sunbracers do not make solar grenades last more than 6 seconds. Other AOE grenades are apparently not lasting as long as their supposed to (duskfields, vortex, etc). Don't know if sunbracers were shadow nerfed or they messed up something with duration grenades.

Personally I believe it's a bug, since it wasn't stated in the patch notes, and other exotics seem to have lost their intrinsic fastball as well (ashen wake and the y1 hunter arc nade one). Even if it was intentional, it isn't worth the slot to me, but it's definitely up to preference
@@imagineabuild I can confirm that the bonuses work on the bosses. I tested it in a run myself and Briars dealt a slight bit more damage (I can't remember the actual numbers off the top of my head but I know they work)

Isn’t this boss a lucent hive lightbearer? In that case, wouldn’t swapping to 2 Ron weapons be better than swapping to witherhoard, so that you can make use of the 9.9% (buffed to 19.9% with deeper origins) damage buff from Harmonic Resonance on Briar’s Contempt? Or did bungie not make this boss count as a Lucent Hive Lightbearer for some reason?
Did you encounter a bug in the final boss room where the circle and oryx symbols line up and create the new symbol, but don't disapear? Just did a run and got screwed by that so was wondering if there's a way to prevent it, or if you just have to get lucky.
This happened to me today, I was in the last phase and I couldn't deposit any vestiges due to the deepsight not showing up the triangle. I don't even know what to do to avoid soft locking the encounter
I encountered a bug during my solo flawless on the final boss where I picked up the 3rd symbol activated deepsight then tried to deposit the symbol and it just wouldn’t let me also killing me because for some stupid reason picking up the symbol kills you when timer runs out. I know I picked up the deepsight because your put in a 2 sec animation while the boss is spraying you down.😂 to spend almost an hour on the dungeon just to die from a bug is very frustrating. Also I knew it was bugged because the green lines hovering over the deposit points wouldn’t show after grabbing deepsight

yeah it did. A lot of people already pointed it out and i heard even vortex nades have a shorter duration too. Hopefully its just a bug and not a stealth nerf
Its the only one that can roll with a ammo extension perk (rewind rounds) and surrounded (42% more damage if its enhanced). So many ads that its almost certain you can proc surrounded during damage
Briars* acasia is the trace. Reconstruction/Rewind, Surrounded and the origin trait plus the artifact mod boosting it, gives it more damage against lucent hive
This Dungeon is a little to Build specific in my opinion, the most efficient and easiest way is Arc Melee Hunter, Sunbracers Warlock or Snytho Bonk Titan, Boss has a bit too much health, first Phase and walking from phase 1-2 is way to long, but this Dungeon looks very nice, have a good Lore, good atmosphere, solid weapons (Exotic Trace rifle is trash) and easy S-Tier Armor Fashion
