had a wonderful experience doing this hike the other day. the trail is called maunawili trail via pali highway. if you plan to go (or go on any hike) please remember to be respectful to the land and people. pack out your trash and don't leave behind any soggy clothes!!

I haven't hiked there however I did hike several places in Maui, Molokai, Kauai, and the Big Isle! I consider myself very fortunate to have had those experiences. Not as fortunate as you, as you well know. Thank you for recording these hikes, bring s me right back to those great hikes!

Great video Keiani. I haven’t been on that trail since they closed it. Did you know that there is also a moss slide just across the pipe bridge? Just be careful when you hike alone. I’ve seen many weirdos out there myself. Just had that sexual assault incident a couple of days ago with that lady getting attacked on a trail near Diamondhead.

Love this! I used to do solo climbs back in my 20s-30s in the Philippines too! Lots of edible fruits along the way, and you can even see eagles and monkeys sometimes :) That foggy part on the mountains reminds me of Benguet, a place in the Philippines where there's lots of mountains and very cold weather. I always bring my coffee maker when I climb there

About the knife thing, i'd never want a woman go through some violent situation. I'd recommend you go with some friends to keep you company through the hike.
