@eventsotherthingswithchris9019
@ Corporals Corner Hey yet again Shawn! A question, I saw somebody using some style of wire instead of the usual rope to fasten things to tree poles including a non grommeted tarp. I don't know if you ever tried this or would? My feeling is, where the wire got poked through the tarp in order to "tie off", even though it'd be a small hole, it's a hole nonetheless that might ruin the structural integrity of the tarp. Am wondering though if I'm right or wrong on my belief?

You can have both!
@eventsotherthingswithchris9019
And, you could combine the 2 somehow even during a game! Of course, you'd have to cook up the bacon & whatnot before anything gets televised. Imagine though, if somehow bacon WAS integrated into football? I mean, they call the ball "pigskin" & well, technically, what is bacon? What would be the combined name afterwards? Footbacon (nope, wouldn't catch on well!) Or, Bacon Ball? ( definitely more potential to take off!)

Hello! I'm almost 76 yrs. old now and for the past 40 yrs. lived in the Arizona deserts outside of Phoenix. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and brought up in the suburbs with swatches of wooden lands. 12 months out of each year I played in those wooded areas pretending to be a hunter, mountain man or soldier. Watching your channel brings me back to my childhood experiences and memories! 2016 I had at least 6 strokes that left me with a weak left side of my body, no vision on my left side and a short term memory. Watching your episodes have brought back all those memories. Most of what do I remember doing , on my own, but with much different materials and no tools except maybe a home made knife and hatchet which I had to hide from my parents and brothers and sister. I learned how to track animals and my friends through the woods, how to make shelters and how to hunt( even before I was in my 20's and on my own and able to buy a bow and shot gun. I like your different shelter making videos. Some I remembered I had made but with other materials. I did have string and some wire to work with. The woods supplied the rest. Around where I lived the water table was high so if you dug down 2 1/2 foot or three foot you wood have a hole full of water by morning. But lean-to's and A-frame, teepee and wikky-ups were the norm. I learned tracking and stealth movement in dry, wet, rainy and snowing woodlands. SORRY! ..I got carried away here. Please keep making your videos!! They are great and informative!! So many can learn from your info and get out and enjoy and or survive in the outdoors! THANK YOU SIR!!!

I completely agree that 'that other person' deserves no more attention now that you've had your say. It's like eating a family dinner -- finish eating, excuse yourself, walk away from the table. Over, done, and out. Now, that trash bag tarp was excellent. Watching your videos has forced me to once again practice the adage of "Improvise, adapt, overcome." I once did something similar with plastic drop-cloths. I believe you've also used something similar. It's nice because they are larger, and you can double them up if you need more strength. Your time and effort in bringing us these outstanding videos is always much appreciated. Have a great week. Semper Fi!

9/26/2022 Watching the knot tieing reminded me that I had a good year in the woods/riverside. I had to buy a new 100 foot spool of #36 bank line, to pack away for next season. I'm old with bad lungs, so no more winter camping. I will go once more this October, then I will watch you camp ect., and be with you in spirit. Yeah, I've been doing this for 50 years, but that don't mean you haven't taught me some good stuff. Throw a stick in the fire this winter, and think of all us guys that wish we were with you.

Kelly, thank you for this week’s post. Staying with the basics (practicing them with different media) and keeping it simple is what keeps me coming back. I really liked the choice of retaining the drum liner’s configuration, while using them for a tarp - great example of thinking outside and ahead of the box. Nice hook demo, another example of situational awareness and resources on hand meets need. Nice on the fly dinner. A great and cheap retake on previous dishes. Hobo rocks! I don’t know much about the matter to discussed at the end. It ain’t really my business. I will say this; that you took the time to prudently and considerately put an end to whatever it was publically and kindly is what I know to be effective deck plate leadership of the first order. Well done! Looking forward to the next one. Cheers

No matter how bad it gets, you can still take the trash out. 😃 My favorite night of all in the outdoors was when a big storm came in, and delivered water drops thru my tent and on to my bag in 55 degree weather. Then 2 skunks decided to sniff around the base of my tent for an hour or two. Not much sleep that night. Then we biked another 25 miles.....
